Job description

Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Design Checking Specialist to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. Applicants should have knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards, electrical and mechanical design principles, and possess the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally. Candidates should have expertise in 2D and 3D modeling, assemblies, drawing detailing, creating draft features, skilled in problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills for working within engineering teams.
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining design requirements using Bentley MicroStation and Visio. Candidates must be willing to learn PTC Creo 11.0 and will support existing staff providing artifacts for distribution and support the lead drafter reviewing the work of junior drafters/modelers. Design Specialists will create and update 3D models, drawings, and assemblies based on customer requirements, specify materials used on models, create models out of rough sketches, develop standardized models of products, coordinate with other teams to ensure the model is correct, and communicate effectively and professionally.
