Job description

TRC Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, and manufacturing of complex assemblies. This role is responsible for managing a team of engineers and designers while overseeing the complete product lifecyclefrom concept, schematic capture, and PCB layout through manufacturing, production support, and delivery. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in electronic hardware design with proven leadership experience and a passion for driving quality, efficiency, and innovation.
Responsibilities:
-Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Electrical Engineers and Designers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
-Manage engineering resources, project schedules, and priorities to ensure on-time delivery of product development initiatives.
-Oversee the design and development of complex PCBAs, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and design validation.
-Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, thermal, mechanical, manufacturability, and cost objectives.
-Partner with Mechanical, Firmware, Quality, Operations, and Manufacturing teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
-Lead design reviews and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and documentation requirements.
-Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Testability (DFT), and Design for Reliability (DFR) initiatives to optimize product quality and production efficiency.
-Collaborate with contract manufacturers and suppliers to support new product introductions, improve yields, and resolve manufacturing challenges.
-Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for design, production, and field performance issues.
-Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, safety, and industry standards, including IPC, UL, and CE requirements.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
-8+ years of experience in design, development, and manufacturing.
-3+ years of experience leading engineering teams or technical programs.
-Strong proficiency with industry-standard ECAD tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence, or Mentor Graphics.
-Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
-Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
