The Lead Contracts Coordinator is the front-line owner of contract lifecycle management for Plaza Premium Group's U.S. and Canada operations, managing a high volume of commercial agreements across multiple business lines and jurisdictions. This role goes beyond administrative support: the Lead Contracts Coordinator applies sound legal and commercial judgment to draft, review, and negotiate standard-to-moderate complexity agreements independently using approved templates and playbooks, escalating novel or high-risk issues to the Director. This role also drives process improvement and CLM system administration, and serves as the team's go-to resource and informal mentor for contract-related questions from other coordinators and business stakeholders across Legal, Finance, Operations, Procurement, and HR.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contract Lifecycle Ownership: Own the end-to-end contract lifecycle process, including intake, drafting, review, negotiation support, approval routing, execution, renewal tracking, and archival, for a high-volume portfolio of commercial agreements.
• Track contract status, approval workflows, execution deadlines, notice periods, and renewal dates, proactively flagging risk and bottlenecks to the Director.
• Maintain contract repositories, version control, and tracking databases, ensuring accuracy and audit-readiness across the full contract portfolio. Drafting, Review & Negotiation
• Draft, revise, and format commercial agreements, amendments, NDAs, vendor agreements, service agreements, leases, and other legal documents using approved templates and playbooks.
• Conduct substantive first-pass review of contracts to identify key commercial terms, legal risks, missing information, and non-standard provisions, applying independent judgment on standard-to-moderate complexity matters and escalating novel or high-risk issues for Director review.
• Lead redline comparisons and manage revision tracking through multiple rounds of negotiation with internal and external counterparties.
• Maintain and continuously improve legal templates, forms, precedent documents, and clause libraries to reflect current playbook positions and lessons learned from prior negotiations. Legal Operations, Systems & Reporting
• Support implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of the contract lifecycle management (CLM) system and related legal operations processes.
• Prepare contract summaries, obligation trackers, KPI reports, and departmental dashboards for business stakeholders and leadership.
• Coordinate legal matter intake and assist with tracking ongoing legal matters and outside counsel engagements.
• Maintain signature authority records and coordinate internal/external signature processes, ensuring executed agreements are properly filed and distributed. Cross-Functional Partnership & Team Support
• Serve as the team's go-to resource on contract-related questions, providing guidance and informal mentorship to other coordinators and business stakeholders on contract process, templates, and playbook positions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Legal, Finance, Operations, Procurement, Human Resources, and executive leadership to support timely, well-documented contracting outcomes.
• Support special projects, process improvement initiatives, and other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, Paralegal Studies, or a related field preferred.
• 5–7 years of experience supporting contract administration, legal operations, paralegal functions, or corporate legal departments, ideally within a high-volume or multi-jurisdictional environment.
• Demonstrated experience independently reviewing, drafting, redlining, and negotiating commercial contracts using established playbooks and templates.
• Strong understanding of contract lifecycle management processes, legal documentation, and risk-flagging practices.
• Hands-on experience with contract repositories, document management systems, or CLM platforms required.
• Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to distinguish standard issues from those requiring escalation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain contract terms and risk clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage a high volume of concurrent matters and competing deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional environment.
• Ability to work independently while providing guidance to team members and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience supporting multi-jurisdictional or international operations strongly preferred.
