Role Overview

This position is for a senior contract professional recognized as an expert in contracting. Manages complex contracts and directs work product of less experienced contract professionals. Implements business strategy in conjunction with legal and regulatory processes. Communicates and influences senior function leaders regarding matters of significant importance. Assists the improvement of department processes through the application of deep knowledge and experience in the contracts function.

What You Will Do
  • Leads the drafting, generation, interpretation and management of highly complex proposals and contracts, in accordance with internal and external customer schedules and requests, to ensure these proposals and contracts properly reflect business objectives.
  • Collaborates with the Integrated Program Team to coordinate input during the proposal and contract process.
  • Manages the analysis and preparation of contract documentation to ensure they are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines.
  • Coaches and mentors junior professionals and reviews their work to ensure output is of quality and in accordance with business objectives.
  • Leads proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contract activities to ensure contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Advises the organization on issues concerning contract matters.
  • Assists leadership on training employees to ensure understanding of and adherence to contract law related to the business.
  • Maintains historical contract records.
Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience. Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.

Qualifications We Prefer

Master of Business Administration or Juris Doctorate. Extensive experience with U.S. Government contracts, including FAR and DFARS. Currently (or within the last 24months) hold a United States Government Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidateโ€™s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the companyโ€™s performance.
