Job description

Job Title: Application EngineerJob Description

The Application Engineer will play a critical role in the design and application of equipment, particularly focusing on steam control products. The ideal candidate should have expertise in CAD software, with a strong emphasis on SolidWorks, DraftSight, and/or AutoCAD. They must be well-versed in sheet metal manufacturing processes, including welding, laser cutting, forming, and other relevant techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize SolidWorks to create drawings for quotation and manufacturing purposes.
  • Collaborate with Sales to produce application drawings for obtaining customer orders.
  • Recommend and assist in sourcing/quoting components suitable for each application.
  • Generate libraries for technical works used in the creation of technical drawings.
  • Expand duties to design and manufacture equipment in-house.
  • Conduct FEA analysis to ensure the structural integrity and performance of designs.
  • Understand pumps and motors, and their relation to pressures and flow inside piping systems to optimize design performance.
  • Review orders with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams when required.
  • Demonstrate eagerness to learn and develop appropriate tools to improve efficiency.
Essential Skills
  • Expertise in mechanical engineering.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD 2D.
  • Experience in project management and application engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with SolidWorks and FEA analysis.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in sheet metal manufacturing processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 2-5 years of application and/or design engineering experience.
Work Environment

The work environment involves the use of advanced CAD software and techniques in sheet metal manufacturing. The role requires close collaboration with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams, and demands a proactive approach to learning and tool development to enhance efficiency.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
