We are looking for a Roadway Design Engineer in Kansas City, KS. A Professional Engineer (PE) with 4 years of experience with transportation projects and managing KDOT and KTA design projects.

The Impact You'll Make
  • Experienced in the design of roadways for KDOT (or other DOT clients) with the ability to oversee and assist in analyses, developing calculations, develop of technical reports and preparing contract documents (PS&E) in accordance with state and local agency requirements
  • Working within a team of roadway engineers in the preparation of pre-design and design as well as contract documents for transportation projects
  • Manage and maintain project documentation, including meeting project schedules, budgets, and scope
The Expertise You'll Bring
  • BSCE is required.
  • PE required or ability to obtain an KS PE within 6 months of hire.
  • Candidate may report in-office or hybrid. Local resident preferred.
  • 4+ years of demonstrated experience in roadway design and plan preparation on transportation projects for DOT or other municipal clients. KDOT experience is a plus
  • Experience in design software, MicroStation and Open Roads designer is a plus
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Technical writing ability to prepare engineering reports is a plus.
  • Experience with highway geometrics, intersection design and layout, estimates and quantity development is a plus.
