Data Analytics Analyst II Experience Level: 3โ€“5 Years Location- Birmingham, AL ( ONSITE) Client- Alabama Power Contract- 3 years Position Summary The Data Analytics Analyst II supports enterprise analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making by working with large, complex datasets in cloud-based environments . This role partners closely with data engineers, business stakeholders, and subject matter experts to ensure accurate, reliable, and well-structured data for dashboards, reports, and analytical products. The ideal candidate brings strong SQL expertise , experience with cloud data platforms , and the ability to troubleshoot data quality and pipeline issues in a fast-paced, enterprise environment. Key Responsibilities Data Analysis & Reporting Analyze large, complex datasets to support enterprise reporting and analytics products Support and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools Translate business questions into efficient, analytics-ready datasets Ensure datasets are optimized for visualization performance and usability SQL & Data Development Write, optimize, and maintain advanced SQL queries , including: Complex joins CTEs Window functions Performance optimization Develop reusable, well-documented SQL assets Cloud Data Platforms Work with cloud-based data platforms such as: Databricks Azure Synapse Snowflake BigQuery (or similar) Understand and support data ingestion flows from source systems to cloud storage and analytics layers Data Modeling & Transformation Structure data for analytics using: Fact and dimension models Wide vs. narrow table designs Prepare datasets optimized for dashboards and enterprise reporting Data Quality & Validation Identify data discrepancies between source systems and cloud datasets Troubleshoot data quality, ingestion, and pipeline issues Facilitate root-cause analysis and coordinate issue resolution across teams Required Qualifications 3โ€“5 years of professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related role Proven experience working with large datasets in cloud environments Advanced SQL proficiency (required) Experience supporting enterprise dashboards and analytics products Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently while collaborating with data engineers and SMEs Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with Power BI Experience within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem , including: Azure Data Factory Azure SQL Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) Experience with PySpark or Python for data analysis and transformations Familiarity with ETL / ELT pipelines and orchestration concepts Experience using version control systems (Git or similar) Basic understanding of data governance, lineage, or metadata management Domain & Business Experience (Preferred) Experience in utilities, energy, infrastructure, or regulated industries Familiarity with operational, asset, or time-series data Experience working with imperfect or operational source systems #J-18808-Ljbffr
