Meta is seeking an Area Contract Manager to support the Design, Engineering, and Construction (DEC) team within its Infrastructure Data Center (IDC) organization. In this role, you will serve as the commercial and contractual subject matter expert for data center design and construction programs across the central region. You will be responsible for managing contract negotiations, execution, commercial risk, and change management processes across a portfolio of large-scale data center projects, working closely with general contractors, trade partners, and internal cross-functional teams to protect Meta's commercial interests and drive program delivery.
Area Contract Manager, Central - Data Center Design, Engineering, & Construction Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary commercial and contractual subject matter expert for data center design and construction contracts across the central region, ensuring alignment with contract terms, scope, and obligations
  • Support the overall design and construction contract management function, including development and implementation of contract management tooling solutions, contract playbooks, and deal-to-contract intake and review processes for their functional program
  • Lead the review, negotiation, and approval of contract changes, including change orders, claims, and commercial entitlement assessments submitted by General Contractors and Trade partners
  • Manage the end-to-end change management process, including scope verification, cost and schedule impact analysis, and coordination with Area Cost and Schedule Leads to ensure integrated commercial accountability
  • Identify, assess, and escalate commercial and contractual risks proactively, partnering with Area Managers, Legal, and Sourcing to develop mitigation strategies
  • Review and interpret contract language to provide guidance to site project management teams on rights, obligations, and dispute resolution pathways
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of contract management processes, templates, and commercial controls frameworks across the central region portfolio
  • Collaborate with Pre-Construction, Finance, Accounting, and Sourcing teams to ensure that contract terms are reflected accurately in project budgets, forecasts, and procurement strategies
  • Provide oversight and coaching to cross-functional partners on commercial processes, contract compliance, and change management best practices
  • Analyze and communicate contract performance health metrics to Area leadership and Design, Engineering, and Construction leadership, including the escalation of unresolved commercial disputes
  • Drive programmatic efficiencies in contract administration and commercial controls, including alignment with other Area Contract Managers to standardize practices across the broader data center portfolio

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience in contract management, construction commercial management, or supply chain operations within large-scale capital construction or infrastructure programs
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Legal Studies (J.D.), Business Administration, English, Engineering, Construction Administration, or a related field
  • Experience in all Google applications (e.g., Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Tasks) and Adobe Sign (or similar electronic signing tool)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI or digital tools to improve contract administration workflows, reporting accuracy, or commercial risk identification
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Experience with Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contract delivery methods
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting the development of owner-side contract management programs, including process design and team capability building
  • Experience in data center, mission-critical facility, or large-scale infrastructure construction programs with complex commissioning and phased delivery requirements
  • Experience in negotiating complex construction claims or dispute resolution processes
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
