Overview / Responsibilities

Looking for a great opportunity?ย  Come join Wood as a Drilling/Completions Data Technician in Houston, TX to work within a Wood client company.ย  This is a contract role position with opportunity for extension. The main responsibility for this role will be providing on-site drilling oversight on exploratory and subsequent development wells.ย 

Work schedule: Mon, Tuesday & Thursday in Client office, Fridays remote. Hybrid schedule possible upon completion of training.ย 

**Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required**

Data Analyst Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and owner of Wellview daily reporting system for D&C
  • Profi cient in Wellview
  • Monitor daily data and cost
  • Responsible for D&C data quality in WV
  • Perform data queries and pull data for analysis
  • Assist Engineers on data collection and consistency
  • Maintain End Of Well close out for WV
  • Managing and validating data for D&C ops and also pulling data as needed or requested from different databases
  • Prepare D&C reports- weekly / quarterly
  • Assist in preparing AFE packages, procedures, and supporting documents
  • Familiar with drilling and completions operations
  • Proficient in Excel with a strong understand of all Microsoft programs
  • 5+ years of experience in a hands-on data analytics role including data modeling, data integration, data ingestion, datatransformation, data mining, and data warehousing- Advanced knowledge of SQL and data warehouse concepts- Experience with database design, performance tuning, and scalability

Experience and knowledge with cloud native data warehouses such as the following programs/languages:

  • Spotfire (required)
  • SQL (required)
  • PI (required)
  • Procount (required)
  • Enersight (preferred)
  • Python (preferred)
  • Snowfl ake (required)
  • SCADA (preferred)
  • Familiarity and experience with self-service BI and analytics tools (e.g. Spotfi re, Tableau, Alteryx)
Skills / Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Drilling or Completion Tech
  • Proficient in Wellview
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Preferred experience in Spotfire
  • ย Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to collaborate across teams
  • Knowledge of Oil and Gas Industry dataย
