Job description

Zynga's mission is to connect the world through games. Its vision was that gaming would become a mass market activity, and "play" would be an important verb in our daily lives. As a part of this vision, Zynga Analytics partners with studios to release and grow multiple games, while also owning the analytics stack and central tools.

Zynga's Data Science and Analytics team uses our unique and expansive data to model and predict user behavior, making our games more personalized and more fun to play! We continually strive to better understand our players!

Here's where you would come in: The Player Success Org (PSO), tasked with improving player engagement and managing a healthy relationship with our most valued players, is a critical function to the day-to-day operations of Zynga. You'd be expected to work with key stakeholders within the PSO to identify critical data dependencies, and devise solutions for them in the form of efficient data modeling, succinct reporting, timely investigations, and proactive insights.

Based on the problem at hand, you'd be expected to collaborate with Game and Central Analytics as per requirement to ensure complete horizontal alignment as well as standardized practices.

Be innovative, be creative, use every bit of that key commodity - data. Millions of people play Zynga games every day, so our data is tremendously rich, and we have a lot of it!

What You'll Do:
  • Work with large amounts of data to find opportunities to improve the player experience and present insights on optimal VIP outreach strategies, by finding statistical causation between campaigns, sweepstakes, outreach programs across various regions, demographics, and channels
  • Develop clear narratives from data using visualization tools that capture VIP engagement & health, player support, and campaign stats.
  • Extend support to the Player Support team to identify improvement opportunities in customer satisfaction, while optimizing for internal costs.
  • Collaborate with game analysts and product managers to better quantify the impact of PSO's campaigns on overall game performance and find opportunities to improve VIP engagement by leveraging in-game and external synergy
  • Provide adhoc support to account managers and senior stakeholders in measuring the effectiveness of off-beat campaigns, joint collaborations, and sweepstakes
What You Bring:
  • Fluent in SQL; Intermediate experience with programming in Python
  • Adept in at least one visualization tool such as Tableau
  • Experience in CRM or sales analytics is helpful
  • Demonstrated experience with some or all of the following: data mining, optimization, experimental design, computational analytics, and reporting
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • 2+ years of work experience in data analytics or data science roles
  • BS in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, or other quantitative field; Masters, MBA or PhD preferred.
What We Offer You:
