Job description

About Us

Rapt is an award-winning design and strategy studio that helps leading brands navigate the complex challenges of this ever-changing world. With locations in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York — and with clients spanning the globe — we bring fresh thinking and a highly customized approach to each and every partnership. Our interdisciplinary teams blend architecture, interior design, brand experience, graphic design, and strategic thinking into holistic solutions that further our clients’ missions. Our agile approach earned us the distinction of being named one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies.

We’re a studio built on connection. The best work happens shoulder-to-shoulder—pin-ups, workshops, model reviews—because ideas move faster in person. We work hybrid: three days together in the studio, with more as projects demand. We value flexibility, but this role isn’t remote; candidates must be local to one of our studios and available onsite regularly.

About the Role

The Director of Creative Resourcing is responsible for bringing intention and strategy to staffing across the studio - making sure the right people are on the right projects at the right time. Rather than reacting to ups and downs of the different projects, you’ll anticipate challenges, balance competing priorities, and thoughtfully assemble teams that can do their best work.

Success in this role is not measured by how efficiently people are allocated or how tidy the spreadsheet is, but by the strength of the teams you help build and the quality of the decisions that support them.

We’re looking for
  • Strategic and forward-thinking, with the ability to see several steps ahead.
  • Empathetic and people-oriented, with strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal judgment.
  • Decisive and comfortable making recommendations when priorities compete and information is incomplete.
  • Organized and detail-oriented without losing sight of the broader strategic picture.
  • Strong communicator who can clearly articulate tradeoffs, priorities, and recommendations.
  • Appreciates that successful creative teams are built through intentional composition rather than simple availability.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating people, projects, priorities, and stakeholders in a studio environment.
  • Professional experience in creative services, interior design, architecture, studio operations, project delivery, resource management, or a related field.
  • Leadership-level presence and credibility, with the confidence to facilitate discussions and influence decisions across the studio.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies, project delivery processes, and team leadership.
  • Understanding of project financials, including budgeting, profitability, utilization, and resource planning.
  • Experience preparing proposals, contracts, scopes of work, change orders, or other project-related documentation.
  • Familiarity with project billing, revenue forecasting, and fee management.

Compensation is based on relevant experience and qualifications. Salary for this role is estimated between $125,000 to $180,000 plus benefits and bonuses.

Rapt also offers a generous relocation package for eligible candidates.

Benefits and Perks
  • Generous options for medical, dental, vision insurance
  • Location flexibility and unlimited paid time off (PTO)
  • Tax-deferred savings through FSA, parking and transit allocations
  • 401K with employer contribution
  • Complimentary One Medical memberships
  • New hire referral bonus
  • Phone stipend
