Project Controls Professional

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the implementation of the Project Control System required by the contract complexity, riskiness and duration, in compliance with the project breakdown structure, company standards and contract specification  
  • Ensure budget management, change management, cash, forecast schedule, and progress updates are performed in accordance with procedures and good practices  
  • Interface and coordinate with other company functions, discipline leaders and managers, and subcontractors to collect information, to guarantee proper information flow, and to inform on project status, ensuring accuracy from all stakeholders  
  • Update all Project Control deliverables (cost report, Primavera project schedule, 30-days look ahead, progress report, cash forecast, manhours report), collecting actual data, evaluating forecast, and monitoring any deviation compared with the baseline schedule or initial budget  
  • Provide Project Management team with analysis and recommendations to mitigate identified risks to the project by running simulations and assessing impact of actions taken  
  • Attend and represent Project Controls during all project meetings (internal or with the client when applicable)  
  • Prepare the Project Close-out Report and compile as-built data for the Project Control Manager review   
  • Ability to travel minimum twice per year to either AME office, AME manufacturing facilities or project construction sites  
  • Promote a general awareness about cost, cash and schedule on the project including good communication to support and maintain positive relationships with project stakeholders (including the Project Manager, CPX (Construction) Manager, Contracts Management, and Finance team)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in engineering, architecture, construction management or equivalent academic and practical experience in Construction Planning  
  • Some experience in project controls, including planning/scheduling, cost management, invoicing, contract management and change management
  • Experience in an engineering, construction and/or operations environment  

Competencies:

  • Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms in English  
  • Experience with SAP and Primavera P6
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)  
  • Experience with database systems  
  • Ability to collaborate across departmental functions   
  • Providing professionalism and quality reporting in a time-sensitive setting while meeting deliverables / target timelines  
  • Bring a positive and professional attitude every day
  • Able to handle changing priorities and an analytical mindset
  • Meticulous attention to detail
