This is a W2 contract opportunity

Duration: August 2026 - June 2027 (may extend/convert)

Hours: 40/week

Location: Hybrid in Bayport, MN (3 days/week onsite)

Pay: $33-43/hr

Our client in the manufacturing space is seeking a Content Writer to support the strategy and execution of technical, SEO-informed content across consumer and professional audiences. This role will partner closely with the team’s lead content strategist to create compelling long-form and digital content that helps homeowners, builders, and other professional audiences better understand Andersen products, materials, and building science concepts.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong writer who enjoys translating complex technical information into clear, engaging, audience-focused content. The ideal candidate brings a blend of research ability, editorial judgment, and content marketing expertise, with the confidence to collaborate with subject matter experts and develop content that supports both brand storytelling and search visibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write and edit long-form content for blogs, articles, website pages, and other digital channels targeting both B2B and B2C audiences.
  • Create content for distinct audience segments, including homeowners and professional customers such as builders and contractors.
  • Translate highly technical product and building science topics into accessible, engaging, and accurate copy.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, engineers, product experts, and other subject matter experts to gather insights and develop authoritative content.
  • Support SEO-driven content initiatives, including headline optimization, keyword-informed copy development, FAQ creation, and adaptation of long-form content into search-friendly formats.
  • Conduct in-depth research on materials, pricing considerations, product performance, and industry topics to inform content development.
  • Help build and organize a working knowledge base of technical content and expert-informed insights for future content use.
  • Use AI-enabled writing tools thoughtfully as part of the content process while maintaining strong editorial standards and a human, brand-aligned voice.
  • Ensure all content aligns with established voice, tone, and style guidelines.
  • Manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications:

  • 5–7 years of professional writing experience preferred; strong junior candidates with excellent writing ability and direction-following skills will also be considered.
  • Proven experience writing clear, engaging content for digital platforms.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to synthesize technical or complex information for different audiences.
  • Experience collaborating with subject matter experts to produce accurate and compelling content.
  • Ability to write for both consumer and professional audiences while adapting tone, style, and messaging appropriately.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Writing samples or portfolio required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AEO and SEO-driven content strategy or search writing.
  • Experience writing about technical products, materials, construction, architecture, or building science.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted content workflows and editorial tools.
  • Experience turning long-form content into supporting web copy, FAQs, or other optimization-focused formats.

Work Environment:

  • 40 hours per week.
  • Minnesota-based candidates required.
  • Hybrid preferred, with an ideal schedule of up to 3 days per week onsite in Bayport; however, flexibility is available for the right candidate (candidates must be in the metro area)
  • For metro-area candidates, occasional onsite collaboration is strongly preferred so the writer can engage with materials and the broader team.

This role is ideal for a thoughtful, curious writer who enjoys digging into complex topics, collaborating with experts, and creating useful content that serves both readers and the business. If you are energized by research, technical storytelling, and crafting content that performs across channels, this could be a strong fit.
