Job Description

The role is based on-site at a customer facility in Sweeny, TX.  Directly coordinating, scheduling, and participating in work with the customer to comply with the “partnership agreement". You will be working as part of a team who will use their knowledge to develop, operate and manage Condition Monitoring programs for John Crane's client.

The role of the Condition Monitoring Engineer or Technical Specialist is to collect routine Condition Monitoring data, conduct first Line analysis and reporting, partner with the teams Engineer to capture advanced data and participate in troubleshooting.

Responsibilites include but not limited to the following:

  • Operate and Develop Condition Monitoring programs for John Crane clients in conjunction with the
  •  Lead CM Engineer.
  •  Conduct routine Condition Monitoring surveys at our clients’ premises.
  •  Conduct analysis of routine vibration data.
  •  Report Vibration and Oil Analysis results and associated corrective maintenance recommendations
  •  Interface with the client for the on-site delivery of Condition Monitoring services.
  •  Conduct periodic on-site Pump Performance Testing and on-site Reporting.
  •  Using a defined process calculate the cost benefit of carrying out recommendations.
  •  Work within the requirements of the Integrated Management System.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Engineering Technology degree preferred and/or equivalent and relevant work experience with rotating equipment. 
  • Vibration Analysis ISO 18436-2 Category 2, or equivalent required. 
  • Lubrication Analysis ISO 18436-4 Category 2, or equivalent preferred.  
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience required in vibration analysis for condition monitoring of rotating equipment (pumps, compressors).
  • Experience with mechanical seals a big plus. 
  • Proficient with Computers, MS Office and specialist vibration monitoring software.
  • Preferred skills such as thermography, rotor dynamics analysis, laser alignment, and electrical tests.
  • Experience working in a diverse environment with a global company is a plus.
