Job description

POSITION PURPOSE

The Sales Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the sales department in achieving revenue and customer satisfaction goals by efficiently and effectively coordinating the sales and catering efforts. Assist with key administrative duties including special projects and assists the Sales & Catering team with phone reception, contract development, tradeshow preparation, account communication and a variety of other administrative tasks. This position?s goal is to develop into a Sales Manager in the near future with a flair for marketing. This position requires about 50% of your time be spent on marketing duties, therefore a passion for marketing is required. Also to manage social media planning and execution in collaboration with Director of Sales & Marketing. You will be required to cultivate and grow online relationships with key target audiences; and seek new opportunities to integrate social media into strategic marketing objectives. A key duty of this position is assisting with general administrative tasks including, but not limited to: upkeep of website; collateral creation and updates; guest data capture organization; collateral filing/organization; media itinerary development; and making reservations for PR/Marketing VIPs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assists the Director of Sales & Marketing with the implementation and achievement of the Sales Marketing Plan, including (but not exclusive of):
    • Advertising opportunities
    • Promotion development
    • New collateral development
    • Marketing projects
  • Responsible for monitoring and receiving incoming department phone calls and transferring inquiries to the appropriate member of the Sales or Catering team member.
  • Responsible for daily review of arrivals lists and making arrangements for VIP guests.
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining par stock of departmental office supplies, business cards and marketing give always.
  • Handle/process all complimentary requests and barters for sales
  • Handle communication with clients on behalf of sales personnel
  • Assist Sales and Catering Teams with Sales projects
  • Obtain show rooms daily for site inspections and inspect rooms to ensure that they are presentable for upcoming sites
  • Ensure all available meeting space is unlocked for site inspections
  • Track monthly corporate account production
  • Type Proposals, Contracts, Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and routing event orders to proper departments

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Opera experience preferred
  • Adobe Creative Suite knowledge preferred
  • Must have excellent communication, organizational and guest relations skills.
  • Must have a working knowledge and understanding of the hotel operations
  • Understand the group sales process
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • College degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of prior experience.
  • Strong Social Media Experience
