Position Scope
The Facilities Contracts Specialist is responsible for ensuring the effective, safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations of health system mechanical and electrical systems and equipment through the efficient management of maintenance contracts. This position has process oversight of monitoring, assessing and supporting contracted service functions. This position will document, make recommendations, offer guidance, communicate matters relating to contracted service functions, and follow established contract-related processes.
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients. Operations of the Medical Center are ongoing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This position may respond to emergency situations, such as electrical and mechanical system outages, and may assist with the evaluation of and correction of problems.
Position Summary
The Facilities Contracts Specialist manages assigned facility maintenance contracts including those that support effective and efficient operation of the health system mechanical and electrical systems. This position is also responsible for ensuring that contractors adhere to medical center management plans and processes; scheduling preventive maintenance, repairs, and project work; ensuring work is completed within contract requirements, regulatory codes, budget, and performance standards; maintaining documentation and records to comply with regulatory requirements; conducting contractor training and quality inspections; assisting with procurement strategies for services and supplies; and tracking and reporting contract KPI metrics.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire:
- Bachelor's degree OR equivalent education and/or experience.
- Two years' experience in equipment and facilities operations, preferably in commercial or health care facilities.
- Proficient with M365 (e.g., PowerPoint, Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication, coordination, and planning skills.
- Working knowledge of elevators/escalators, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, medical gas, DDC and pneumatic control systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work in high-pressure atmosphere.
- Read and understand electrical/mechanical blueprints and drawings.
- Basic knowledge or ability to gain knowledge in codes and standards.
- Excellent customer relations skills.
- Valid Ohio driver's license.
Desired
- Basic knowledge of FSI Custom Maintenance Software (CMS) software
- Working experience in the elevator/escalator industry
Ongoing:
- Demonstrate competence in technical and interpersonal skills required to meet job expectations.
- Keep current with applicable software, procedures and practices as they relate to job functions.
- Maintain working knowledge of applicable codes and regulatory requirements
- Meets mandatory safety and educational requirements as outlined in the Department's policies and procedures.
