Job description

Micron Solutions is a multifaceted contract manufacturing organization specializing in thermoplastic injection molding, precision machining and finishing, and silver-plated medical sensors for disposable electrodes. We partner with companies of all sizes to deliver manufacturing and assembly solutions that support their success. Our 120,000-square-foot facility in Fitchburg, MA supports projects from concept through commercialization.

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment installations for injection molding presses, CNC machines, and related auxiliary equipment. This position works under the direction of the Maintenance Engineer and supports the efficient operation of manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and maintain production goals.

Injection molding equipment experience is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance on injection molding presses, CNC machines, and auxiliary equipment in accordance with established schedules.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues on manufacturing equipment as assigned.
  • Support the installation, setup, and relocation of manufacturing equipment and related systems.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report recurring issues or concerns to the Maintenance Engineer.
  • Assist in maintaining maintenance records, logs, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, company policies, and departmental standards.
  • Follow all molding and machining department procedures and work instructions.
  • Support efficient use of equipment, materials, and labor resources.
  • Understand and comply with Quality Management System requirements, including ISO 13485 standards.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and timely, including maintenance records and related data collection forms.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Work safely at all times to prevent injury and protect company assets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and understand written procedures, work instructions, and maintenance documentation.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and maintenance recordkeeping.
  • Knowledge of the safe and proper use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred
  • Experience maintaining and repairing injection molding equipment.
  • Experience with CNC machines and auxiliary manufacturing equipment.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Previous manufacturing maintenance experience in a regulated environment.
  • Understanding of preventive maintenance programs and equipment troubleshooting techniques.
