Job Summary:
The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating 3-axis CNC machines to produce high-precision aluminum components in a contract manufacturing environment. This role requires the ability to interpret technical documentation, maintain tight tolerances, and ensure consistent product quality. The Machinist works closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to support efficient operations and on-time delivery of aerospace components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC Haas machines, including loading programs and executing machining operations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and setup documents to determine machining requirements and tolerances.
  • Perform basic program edits and adjust speeds and feeds to optimize machining performance.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Perform cleaning and deburring of finished parts to maintain quality standards.
  • Operate multiple machines when required while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Track estimated versus actual hours to support workflow and efficiency improvements.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with team members to support production goals and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Participate in cross-training and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of CNC machining experience, including machine setup.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and setup documentation.
  • Experience operating Haas machines with Fanuc controls.
  • Basic knowledge of G-code and ability to edit programs.
  • Understanding of speeds and feeds adjustments for machining processes.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and other inspection equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to run multiple machines efficiently in a production setting.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement practices.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules or overtime as needed.

Work Environment: 

  • Shop floor environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and moving equipment.
  • Climate-controlled facility.
  • Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
  • May require standing for extended periods and operating machinery.
  • Fast-paced, production-driven environment with changing priorities. 

Shift Schedule:

Multiple shift options available, including first and second shifts, with a shift differential for the second shift.
