Job description

Summary
To assist in the management of the janitorial service operations within guidelines of the Statement of Work (SOW) for each contract. Assist in Managing contracts in a cost-effective manner by establishing and applying sound management policies pertaining to the organization. Assist in maintaining quality of work based on SOW.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for directly supervising and training janitorial personnel, ensuring they understand and complete their tasks efficiently.
  2. Actively participate in cleaning and maintenance tasks alongside staff to model proper techniques and work ethic.
  3. Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring proper usage and replenishment as needed.
  4. Conduct routine inspections of all areas to ensure compliance with the Statement of Work (SOW) and address deficiencies immediately.
  5. Handle minor maintenance and repair of janitorial equipment to minimize service disruptions.
  6. Assist in scheduling and delegating work assignments to optimize workflow and ensure adequate coverage.
  7. Train employees in safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  8. Maintain daily communication with staff to address concerns, provide guidance, and foster teamwork.
  9. Respond promptly to customer complaints, concerns, or special cleaning requests, ensuring high service quality.
  10. Serve as a point of contact for emergency cleaning or unexpected issues.
  11. Serve as a point of contact for all designated exterior trash issues up to and including bus stop trash.
  12. Perform hands-on cleaning tasks, demonstrating proper techniques and efficiency
  13. Responsible for working within budgeted hours to complete the required work.
  14. Comply with all Agency policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet CARF, HIPAA, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.
  15. All other duties assigned by manager.

ASSIST CONTRACT MANAGER IN:

  1. Adhering to and maintaining quality control plan, daily issues log, and follow-up customer service.
  2. Meeting required direct labor ratio for people with disabilities, by training and developing them to meet their full vocational potential and maintain stable workforce.
  3. Training all employees in basic disability awareness and issues.
  4. Conducting monthly Safety Meetings.
  5. Ensuring that policies and procedures are properly followed.
  6. Maintenance of equipment, proper utilization.
  7. Updating all records pertaining to CIMS.
  8. Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  9. Assisting at other job sites as needed.
  10. Maintaining a safe and orderly work environment.
  11. Ordering supplies.
  12. Other duties assigned at the direction of the Contract Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervise employees, coordinate training, and other duties as assigned by the Contract Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience Requirements

At least two years’ janitorial lead or management experience is required.
