Revolution Healthcare Services is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Rochester, Minnesota.

Registered Nurse – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Location: Mayo Clinic – Mary Brigh Building, 1216 2nd St SW, Rochester, MN 55905
Schedule: 36 Hours/Week | Day/Night Rotation (0700–1930 / 1900–0730) | Every 3rd Weekend | Floating as needed
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Position Overview
The Pediatric ICU Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and delivers high-acuity critical care, patient/family education, and care transitions for critically ill pediatric patients across a broad range of specialties. Grounded in the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model and ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, the RN manages complex medical, surgical, trauma, cardiac, neurological, pulmonary, and transplant cases. This role requires clinical expertise in managing multi-organ failure and complex interventions, as well as leadership through delegation, precepting, and quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Critical Care & Transplant Nursing: Provide advanced critical care to a diverse pediatric population, including Level 1 trauma, intubated patients, and pediatric solid organ (liver/kidney) and bone marrow transplant recipients.
Cardiac & Rhythm Monitoring: Continually assess, interpret, and manage continuous telemetry and cardiac monitor strips for critically ill pediatric patients.
Care Coordination: Formulate, execute, and evaluate individualized care plans while supporting families through critical illness and transitions of care.
Orientation Assessment: Successfully complete and pass the mandatory ECG examination during facility orientation to continue the assignment.
Team Leadership & Adaptability: Mentor junior staff, delegate care based on acuity and skill level, and float to other pediatric or critical care units as needed.
Position Qualifications
Required Experience
PICU Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric ICU (PICU) RN experience.
Acute Care Nursing: Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience.
Specialty Skills: Proven proficiency in Level 1 trauma management, intubated patient care, and continuous cardiac monitoring/rhythm strip interpretation.
Travel Experience: Minimum 6 months of previous travel RN experience (1+ year preferred).
Preferred Experience
Care of solid organ transplant (liver, kidney) and bone marrow transplant pediatric patients.
Mandatory Certifications & Licensure
RN License: Active Minnesota RN License (or compact equivalency).
BLS: Active Basic Life Support (BCLS) for Healthcare Providers (must not expire within 3 months of start date).
PALS: Active Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.
Preferred Certifications
CCRN: Critical Care Registered Nurse certification.
TCTCN: Transport Certified Pediatric Nurse or related specialty certifications.
Education
Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited Baccalaureate, Associate, or Diploma Nursing Program.
(Note: If non-ACEN/CCNE accredited, or if graduation was >2 years ago, 1 year of applicable RN experience within the last 5 years is required.)
