Business Systems Analyst – Guidewire Policy Modernization

Contract Position Locations:

  • Plano, TX – Hybrid (3 Days Onsite / 2 Remote)
  • San Antonio, TX – Hybrid (3 Days Onsite / 2 Remote)
Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support a large-scale Policy Modernization initiative within a Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance environment. This role will work closely with Guidewire development, architecture, product, and business teams to support enterprise modernization efforts focused on Guidewire platform implementations, integrations, and data-driven business processes.

The ideal candidate has strong experience gathering and translating business requirements, supporting large enterprise implementations, and working within Guidewire or insurance technology ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements
  • Support Guidewire modernization and implementation initiatives across policy, billing, and claims domains
  • Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical requirements, user stories, workflows, and process documentation
  • Facilitate requirements workshops, stakeholder meetings, and solution discussions
  • Create and maintain:
    • Business requirements documents (BRDs)
    • Functional specifications
    • Process flows
    • User stories
    • Acceptance criteria
    • Traceability documentation
  • Work closely with development and QA teams to support testing, validation, and defect resolution
  • Assist with data mapping, API integration requirements, and downstream system impacts
  • Support Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives
  • Identify project risks, gaps, dependencies, and process improvement opportunities
  • Ensure alignment between business objectives and technical delivery
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst experience
  • Experience supporting medium-to-large enterprise technology implementations
  • Strong experience gathering and documenting complex business and technical requirements
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced enterprise environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications Insurance & Guidewire Experience
  • Experience with:
    • Guidewire PolicyCenter
    • Guidewire BillingCenter
    • Guidewire ClaimCenter
  • Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance experience strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting policy modernization initiatives
