The Position
Our bank client is seeking to fill a Commercial Loan Assistant role in the Schaumburg, IL area. The position is responsible for documenting collections, closing, handling loan payments and advances, telephone and personal interaction with customers and third-party vendors to accommodate banking needs and solve problems, and other general duties. The Commercial Loan Assistant is responsible for accurate and timely loan preparation, servicing, and maintenance of commercial loan portfolios.
The opportunity has a generous salary of up to $90K and a benefits package. (This is not a remote position).
Commercial Loan Assistant responsibilities include:
  • Correspond with applicants to gather financial information for the loan approval process.
  • Order preliminary title work, UCC searches, Flood Certificates, environmental reports, Credit Reports, and all other necessary data.
  • Assists Commercial Loan Officers in managing portfolios and administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Working directly with Commercial Loan Officers, Treasury Management, and other team members to effectively grow portfolio revenue by presenting financial solutions to customers.
  • Provides clerical and administrative support to assigned lending staff and assists with setting up commercial loan files with timeliness and accuracy.
  • Coordinates with borrower and/or insurance agent for lapsed or expiring insurance.
  • Contribute to the Team's overall meeting and/or exceeding the assigned volume/production goals.
  • Primary contact for the coordination of information between client and internal departments in the loan process.
  • Prepares and reviews commercial loan documents prior to closing to ensure all approval conditions and requirements are accurate and complete.
  • Responsible for communication and finalizing loan closing with third parties such as title companies, external closing attorneys, inspectors, and appraisers to ensure all aspects of the loan preparation are completed.
  • Prepares loan disbursement entries for loan closing and bookings.
  • Reviews and processes credit reports and draw requests for customers.
  • Assists in obtaining updated financial statements, credit reports, rent rolls, and other financial information to maintain the servicing file.
  • Prepares loan extensions and deferrals. Assists in preparing credit memos.
  • Coordinates process with participant banks for loan participation purchases or sales.
  • Maintains files for all repos, small claims, and garnishments.
  • Responsible for overseeing renewals, document tickler, and covenant tracking of loans.
  • Monitors loan documentation exception reports and follows up to clear up document exceptions in a timely manner

  • Work closely with Commercial Loan Officer to manage maturing loans.
  • Provide notary services as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
