Job description

Stock Yards Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYBT), parent company of Stock Yards Bank & Trust Company, with offices in Louisville, Central, Eastern and Northern Kentucky, as well as the Indianapolis, Indiana and Cincinnati, Ohio metropolitan markets.
Job Title: Construction Lending Administrator
FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: Credit Administration
Hours of Operation: 40-45 hours per week
General Job Summary:
Work diligently with lenders, coordinators and borrowers to ensure construction loans close timely, checklists are complete, and closing draw is in balance on assigned loans. Responsible for maintaining an effective and efficient method of tracking all aspects of the residential and commercial construction/development loan portfolio to ensure compliance with original approvals and on-budget completion of the projects; to review existing policy and procedures and revise and/or establish new as warranted.
Organizational Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supports the mission, vision and philosophy of the Bank. Complies willingly with all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Supports all functions that maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review current construction policy, procedures and forms to revise, eliminate and make additions as needed
  • Communicate and educate lenderson the Bank's policies, guidelines and procedures
  • Meet with officers and clients, when requested, prior to closing to review the project, budget, items needed by closing and after and the draw/funding process
  • Complete closing checklists/task sheets and give the CLA clear to close
  • Balance closing draw, review settlement Statements and Construction Loan Agreements prior to closing
  • Set up construction loan in Built and create draw files on construction loans and communicate with lenders on missing items or items not in compliance with approval
  • Order title updates/endorsements and inspections for pending draw requests
  • Review pending draw request and supporting documentation to budget tracking, addressing unauthorized change orders, items not included in budget, budget shortages, expired insurances
  • Review title update/endorsement and inspection report received to draw request and approve draw in compliance with documentation and original approval; verify the inspection report and that the balance to complete and balance available to draw on the loan are sufficient to complete the project
  • Communicate with inter-departments to ensure accuracy and compliance of the construction loan portfolio
  • Review of the Title Policy and Loan Agreement on Commercial Construction loans for list of requirements prior to Final Disbursement
  • Prepare and maintain a draw Cost Summary to track balances of remaining costs to complete verses loan funds remaining to be sure loan is in balance for duration of project to completion
  • Obtain all required documents for final draw prior to loan converting to perm

Other Functions:
  • Track and reconcile invoices from vendors on a monthly basis and submit for payment
  • Review purpose codes at approval and loan set up to be sure construction codes are used properly

Working Conditions:
Office setting using telephone and various computer programs - some travel required
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education: College education preferred
Experience: 2 years prior experience in construction lending or related field
Specific Skills:
  • Proficiency in Word
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Typing
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Excellent Communication Skills

Specialized: Experience with Credit Quest, Built, and RIMS preferred
