Job description

Assume a vital position as a key member of a high-performing team that delivers infrastructure and performance excellence. Your role will be instrumental in shaping the future at one of the world's largest and most influential companies.
As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms, you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise.
Job Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end cloud networking architecture for enterprise platforms across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, including segmentation, transit design, DNS, load balancing, connectivity, and egress controls.
  • Define and govern reusable network architecture standards, patterns, and reference designs for customer-facing and internal solutions.
  • Partner with application, platform, security, and infrastructure teams to design customer solution architectures that meet availability, performance, resiliency, and compliance requirements.
  • Translate business and customer requirements into secure, production-ready architecture blueprints and implementation plans.
  • Own technical risk management for cloud networking and solution architecture domains, including identification, assessment, prioritization, and mitigation planning.
  • Drive closure of audit, regulatory, cybersecurity, and control findings by coordinating remediation plans, evidence collection, and stakeholder reporting.
  • Establish architecture guardrails, policy-as-code controls, and design review processes to improve consistency and reduce operational risk.
  • Support major incident response and problem management for network-related outages, including root-cause analysis and prevention strategies.
  • Mentor engineers and architects, promote engineering excellence, and contribute to roadmap planning and delivery governance.
  • Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate infrastructure analysis and design documentation, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements.
  • Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted practices within delivery and automation routines to identify recurring issues and validate remediation options, ensuring changes are traceable/auditable and aligned to resiliency and security expectations.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Significant experience in cloud networking architecture and enterprise network design in regulated environments.
  • Deep expertise in core networking concepts: routing, switching, BGP, DNS, VPN, firewalls, NAT, proxies, load balancing, and zero-trust principles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud-native networking services and hybrid connectivity patterns.
  • Demonstrated experience designing customer solution architectures that align to security, resilience, and performance objectives.
  • Proven track record of managing and remediating technology and cybersecurity risks/findings from audits, assessments, and control testing.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation tooling such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level reporting and technical design reviews.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence architecture outcomes without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalating when uncertain and ensuring outcomes align to resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills.
  • Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
  • Professional-level cloud, Security, and/or Networking certifications
  • Familiarity with SRE practices, observability, and network performance engineering.
  • Experience with policy and compliance frameworks, including control design and evidence-based assurance.
  • Exposure to SD-WAN, service mesh, Kubernetes networking, and API-driven network automation.
