Job description

Plateau GRP is seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer to support a major data modernization initiative for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The selected candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing modern data platforms and analytics solutions in the Microsoft Azure environment.
This position requires a strong blend of technical expertise, consultative ability, and collaboration skills to work across diverse teams supporting data governance, cloud architecture, and advanced analytics efforts.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and build scalable Azure-based data pipelines, architectures, and data services to support FDIC's modernization objectives.
  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT workflows, data lake and warehouse structures, and data integration solutions.
  • Implement best practices for data governance, data quality, and metadata management within the Azure environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, efficient, and compliant management of structured and unstructured data.
  • Support big data, advanced analytics, and reporting/dashboarding solutions using Azure cloud technologies.
  • Contribute to the design of cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions, including serverless, containerized, and pay-per-use architectures.
  • Apply machine learning (ML) and MLOps practices to operationalize and monitor data science models.
  • Ensure enterprise-grade data security, access control, and cloud operations in alignment with FDIC standards.
  • Collaborate in Agile teams, providing technical insight and clear communication to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • BA/BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical roles such as developer, systems analyst, or data engineer.
  • This position requires US Citizenship and the ability to pass/obtain any required government background check or security clearance. An active security is preferred.
  • Strong consultative skills and ability to operate effectively across functional teams.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Solid project and team management experience within Agile environments.
  • One or more Microsoft Azure Cloud Certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, or Azure AI Engineer).
  • Enterprise-scale experience in:
  • Cloud and hybrid infrastructures
  • Enterprise solution architecture
  • Data pipelines and integration
