Job description

About the RoleAt Uber, we're committed to accelerating the transition to autonomous vehicles (AV). The Global AV Infrastructure team plays a pivotal role in expanding infrastructure access to support Uber's ambitious autonomous and electrification goals. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Construction Manager to join our team.

In this multifaceted role, you will be responsible for leading the construction and commissioning phases of AV charging station and vehicle maintenance projects, ensuring they are delivered on schedule and within budget.### What You Will Do- End-to-End Project Management: Comprehensively manage projects from design handoff through construction completion, strictly maintaining quality, budget, and timelines.- Procurement & Vendor Selection: Conduct RFPs, answer RFIs, level-set proposals, and select general contractors for the construction of both maintenance depots and charging station projects.- Pre-Construction Planning: Complete constructability reviews and construction estimates during the design phase to ensure feasibility and cost-effectiveness.- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal cross-functional teams, external consultants, and general contractors to drive efficient project execution and compliance with negotiated agreements.- Oversight & Compliance: Provide general contractor oversight and manage project budgets, ensuring strict compliance with Uber's safety standards, local codes, and regulations.- On-Site Supervision: Conduct on-site inspections to verify work performed, proactively identifying and resolving on-site project challenges to ensure continuous progress.- Reporting & Onboarding: Track project progress and regularly report updates to internal stakeholders, including launch teams and executives. Complete contractor reviews and onboard new contractors or stakeholders when necessary.### Basic Qualifications- Experience: 5+ years of experience in site supervision, construction management, or related fields.- Project Track Record: Proven track record of managing end-to-end construction of infrastructure and/or maintenance facility projects on time and on budget.- Technical Skills: Capable of reading complex design drawings and interpreting them for construction. Experience in utility infrastructure, site civil, and/or facility construction.- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in PDF editing and project management software such as Bluebeam, Procore, Asana, or similar tools.- Construction Processes: Strong understanding of construction processes (RFIs, contracts, schedules, change orders), methods, and codes

Electrical contractor experience is a plus.- Project Management: Exceptional organization skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.### Preferred Qualifications- Advanced Experience: 8+ years of experience in construction management or a related field.- EV Infrastructure: Proven track record of managing end-to-end construction of fast-charging electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure projects.- Electrical Expertise: Capable of interpreting and applying AC and DC power systems knowledge, including transformers, circuit protection, and single-line electrical and mechanical diagrams.- Work Style: Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.- Travel: Willingness to travel >50% of the time.- Education: Bachelor's degree in civil/electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field.For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$150,000 per year - USD$167,000 per year.For Dallas, TX-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$150,000 per year - USD$167,000 per year.For Denver, CO-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$150,000 per year - USD$167,000 per year.For Houston, TX-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$150,000 per year - USD$167,000 per year.For Las Vegas, NV-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$134,000 per year - USD$148,500 per year.For Minneapolis, MN-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$134,000 per year - USD$148,500 per year.For Nashville, TN-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$134,000 per year - USD$148,500 per year.For Phoenix, AZ-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$134,000 per year - USD$148,500 per year.For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp.
