Job Summary:

As an IT Field Technician with SmartSource, your primary responsibility will be providing “top-notch” customer service with a strong focus on tradeshow and corporate meeting environments. Duties include product configuration, prep and testing, transportation of equipment, on-site installation of audio visual and computer technology, networking, troubleshooting and technical support.

Responsibilities:

  • In-shop configuration, preparation and testing, transport for on-site installation, customer service, and troubleshooting of our computers, software, and related peripherals in tradeshow and corporate events environments.
  • In-shop configuration, preparation and testing, transport for on-site set up and operation of Audio and Video equipment including microphones, speakers, mixing consoles, video screens, projectors, video switchers, large displays and related peripherals in tradeshow and corporate events environments.

Qualifications:

  • Strong IT background with expertise in configuring, networking, and troubleshooting computers, printers, and related hardware. *Copier repair experience is a plus.*
  • The ideal candidate will also be proficient at setting up and operating basic audio-visual components, be able to troubleshoot and correct operational glitches.
  • Must have experience with “live events” – trade shows, corporate meetings, and conferences.
  • Must have a “can-do" attitude, strong customer service focus, and effective communication and people interaction skills as this position interacts directly with our customers.
  • Requires the ability to think and work independently, meet deadlines, and have extreme attention to detail, while working as a member of a team.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive company vehicles to area venues for client events.
  • Requires loading/unloading of company vehicles. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • As our clients’ events are held seven days a week, some overtime, weekends, and overnight travel is required.
  • A desire to continually improve performance and take service to the next level is vital.
