Associate Attorney

Employment & Training Centers, Inc. Houston, Texas, United States (Onsite)


Our client is seeking an outgoing and motivated Associate Attorney to join their Houston team. This full time, onsite role is within the Property Tax Division and includes client representation in court, contract management, legal research, civil litigation support, and business development opportunities.


The ideal candidate is a licensed Texas attorney with 1 to 5 years of legal experience who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, communicate clearly with clients and internal teams, and handle courtroom responsibilities with professionalism. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior attorneys, take part in client facing legal matters, and gain experience in a fast paced legal setting. There is no billing requirement for this role.


Position Details:

โ€ข Salary Range: $75,000 to $100,000 annually

โ€ข Additional Compensation: Bonus opportunities

The responsibilities of the position include:


โ€ข Legal research and analysis related to property tax and civil litigation

โ€ข Drafting and reviewing legal documents

โ€ข Assisting with trial and hearing preparation

โ€ข Attending client meetings and providing legal advice

โ€ข Collaborating with senior attorneys to develop case strategies

โ€ข Representing clients in court proceedings and negotiations

Requirements:


โ€ข JD from an ABA approved law school

โ€ข Licensed and in good standing in Texas

โ€ข 1 - 3 years of legal experience

โ€ข Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

โ€ข Ability to think and act independently with minimal supervision

โ€ข Legal research and writing skills

โ€ข Legal drafting and administrative experience

โ€ข Ability to conduct legal analysis and provide sound advice

โ€ข Litigation and courtroom procedure experience

โ€ข Familiarity with legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw

โ€ข Clear communication and negotiation skills

โ€ข Ability to engage with clients and local associations

โ€ข Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills


Preferred Experience and Skills:


โ€ข Texas delinquent property tax background preferred, but not required

โ€ข Spanish speaking ability is a plus
