Job description

The Assistant Project Manager will work as part of a cross functional team in a wide range of building projects. Reporting to the Director, Data Center Development & Construction, this position is primarily responsible for assisting in project planning, organization, and management of day-to-day operations. This position is critical to providing project management support needed to sustain and grow AREP's construction projects across the portfolio and has an on-site schedule in Hobart, Indiana. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage project documentation (development agreements, leases, permits, drawings, specifications, change orders, etc.)
  • Assist in project schedule management, including updating and reporting on schedule progress
  • Carry out project meeting management tasks include scheduling, creating agendas, updating minutes, and tracking deliverables identified in meetings
  • Work with accounting team on project budget tasks including setting up job codes, processing invoices, managing expense reports, reviewing draw packages, and tracking job cost reports
  • Facilitate, issue and manage project contracts and agreements.
  • Responsible for having contracts and proposals signed, tracked, and returned to vendors
  • Ensure that scope creep, communications, and quality control are carefully managed through execution of project management change control and communications plans are implemented
  • Review/Revise job budgets as needed
  • Support project team through performing general office duties, data entry, and administrative tasks

  • Strong working knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Candidates with Data Center and/or Power/Utilities Coordination are strongly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of construction project management experience.
  • Overall knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Candidates with the following experience/background are strongly encouraged to apply: Data center industry, real estate development, Yardi, Northspyre, Procore, Oracle Primavera Cloud or other equivalent project management tools.
