Manager, Business Process Improvement & Operational Excellence, Service Operations


  • Location: Conroe, TX / North Houston area
  • Work Arrangement: Fully onsite
  • Compensation: Up to approximately $160,000 base salary + bonus


About the Opportunity


We are partnering with a large, global organization to identify a Manager, Business Process Improvement & Operational Excellence for a technical services business in the North Houston area.


This is a highly visible role focused on improving operational processes, building structure, and supporting the integration of a growing services business into a larger enterprise environment. The initial focus will include process mapping, asset tracking, scheduling and resource planning, inventory management, and preparation for a future ERP conversion. Operational processes include projects around: field service operations, order to cash, purchase to pay, sales, inventory & operations and new product development.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working onsite with business leaders and operations teams, bringing structure to ambiguity, improving workflows, and helping a growing business scale.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead business process improvement projects within a recently acquired services operation
  • Ability to flex and lead business process improvement initiatives across services projects, Opportunity to Cash, Procure to Pay, New Product Development and Introduction, and Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning based on project needs
  • Facilitate current-state process mapping and future-state design sessions
  • Improve processes related to asset tracking, scheduling, resource planning, inventory management, and operational visibility
  • Partner with local operations leaders, corporate business process improvement teams, IT, finance, supply chain, and other stakeholders
  • Identify bottlenecks, handoff issues, data gaps, process inconsistencies, and opportunities for standardization
  • Support ERP readiness and future system conversion efforts
  • Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, status updates, and ownership frameworks
  • Use structured problem-solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement tools to improve execution
  • Help drive adoption, change management, training, and sustainable process improvements
  • Communicate project progress, risks, decisions, and business impact to leadership


What We’re Looking For

  • 8 to 10+ years of experience in business process improvement, operational excellence, project management, business transformation, service operations, consulting, or related work
  • Experience improving processes in an onsite operational environment
  • Exposure to at least two of the five process areas (OTC, PTP, NPDI, SIOP, Services) is ideal
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to drive work from assessment through implementation
  • Experience with process mapping, current-state / future-state design, root cause analysis, and cross-functional project leadership
  • Exposure to service operations, field operations, industrial services, construction services, technical services, asset-heavy operations, inventory, scheduling, or resource planning
  • Ability to work independently, bring structure to ambiguity, and influence without direct authority
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working with both local operations teams and senior leaders
  • Strong business acumen, sound judgment, and practical problem-solving ability
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, operations, supply chain, engineering, information systems, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting a recent acquisition, integration, ERP conversion, or operational transformation
  • Experience with NetSuite, Oracle, Oracle EBS, SAP, ServiceNow, or similar enterprise systems
  • Background in industrial services, technical services, construction services, HVAC/mechanical services, utilities, energy, data centers, facilities services, equipment services, or another operationally complex environment
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, project management, root cause analysis, change management, or continuous improvement methods
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, CSM, MBA, or other relevant certification/advanced degree is a plus
