Job description

About OpenWorks
OpenWorks is a national facilities services company with more than 40 years of experience helping multi-location businesses create cleaner, healthier, and more efficient workplaces.
We're a people-first organization that believes our success starts with our employees. By investing in our team, embracing continuous improvement, and building strong partnerships with customers and franchise owners, we're creating innovative solutions that drive lasting results.
About the Role
We're looking for a QA Engineer to build and maintain automated integration test coverage across our portfolio of web and mobile applications, helping ensure reliable, high-quality software releases without slowing delivery. You'll partner closely with Engineering, Product, and DevOps to improve application quality, automate testing, and support a continuous delivery mindset.
If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges, thinking critically about user experience, and leveraging AI-assisted tools to improve software quality, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
• Design, generate, and maintain automated integration test suites across multiple applications using AI-assisted tooling to accelerate test development and maintenance.
• Establish and evolve testing standards, frameworks, and automation practices that support the team's delivery cadence.
• Identify, triage, and communicate software defects based on user experience and business impact, providing clear context for release decisions.
• Partner with developers and Product teams on risk-based test planning, prioritizing critical-path coverage.
• Monitor and improve automated test pass rates, regression coverage, and overall test suite stability.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with DevOps to reduce manual release verification.
• Contribute to a continuous delivery culture focused on small, testable, high-quality releases.
What You Bring
• 3+ years of experience in QA or test automation for production web or mobile applications.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar to generate and maintain automated test suites.
• Experience maintaining automated tests across multiple applications or services.
• Experience with at least one modern integration or end-to-end testing framework such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
• Proficiency with TypeScript/JavaScript or Python scripting, API testing, CI/CD integration, and Git.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess application quality and prioritize testing based on user impact and business value.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a proactive, continuous learning mindset.
Why OpenWorks?
• Help shape the quality strategy across multiple web and mobile applications that support our business.
• Work with modern testing frameworks, AI-assisted development tools, and cloud-based development practices.
• Partner closely with Engineering, Product, and DevOps to improve software quality and release confidence.
• Contribute to projects and initiatives that directly shape our company's success.
• Competitive compensation, benefits, and the opportunity to grow your career in a forward-thinking and inclusive environment.
