These jobs can include freelancers, independent contractors, temporary staff, or gig workers who are hired for a specific project or time period. Contingent workers typically do not receive traditional employee benefits like healthcare or retirement plans. Companies use contingent workers to fill short-term needs, provide specialized skills, or manage workforce flexibility.

To thrive in a contingent workforce role, candidates should possess adaptability, diverse industry-specific skills, and a proven work history that matches the assignment's requirements. Familiarity with digital workforce platforms, timesheet management systems, and remote collaboration tools is often advantageous.
