A Content Protection job focuses on safeguarding digital media, intellectual property, and proprietary content from piracy, unauthorized distribution, and infringement. Professionals in this field monitor online platforms, enforce copyright policies, and work with legal and technology teams to prevent leaks or illegal use. They also use digital rights management (DRM) tools, watermarking, and content tracking systems to detect and prevent violations. To thrive as a Content Protection specialist, you need a deep understanding of digital rights management, anti-piracy tactics, and intellectual property law, often supported by a degree in information technology, media, or law. Familiarity with content tracking software, watermarking tools, monitoring systems, and certifications like CIPP or similar are highly valued. Content Protection professionals frequently encounter challenges such as rapidly evolving digital piracy tactics, large-scale unauthorized distribution, and keeping up with new technology platforms. Teams address these challenges by consistently updating monitoring tools, collaborating closely with legal and IT departments, and conducting regular training on the latest trends in content security. The work is collaborative and often cross-functional, requiring coordination with legal counsel, technical experts, and external partners. Job description

About the Role
We're looking for a contract Content Designer to join our team on a fully remote basis. Design is the core competency we're hiring for — you should have advanced skills across the standard design toolkit and a strong eye for social and digital content. Depending on seasonal campaigns and team needs, your workload will shift: some weeks will be almost entirely design, others may involve a heavier mix of video. We want someone who is grounded in design but flexible enough to move across both.
For video, we're not looking for a video editor by trade. We want someone with a working knowledge of basic editing — cuts, captions, simple effects — and the initiative to grow those skills on the job as our content needs evolve.
This is a 6-month contract with the potential to extend based on team needs and
Key Responsibilities
Design — Core Responsibility
This is where you’ll spend the majority of your time, and where we expect your strongest skills. Upon request by team members, you'll produce visual assets across online and offline channels — from digital campaigns to print materials.

  • Create digital assets across channels: social graphics, display ads, email visuals, landing pages, video graphics, and presentation materials
  • Create offline and event materials including print collateral (banners, brochures) and branded event assets
  • Design creator toolkits, one-pagers, and partner-facing materials
  • Build and maintain reusable templates in Canva and Illustrator for ongoing team use
  • Create screenshots, in-app guides, and product visual content
  • Maintain visual consistency across all touchpoints
Video Editing — Scope of Work
Video editing is part of the scope of this role, and the volume will vary by season and campaign. We’re looking for someone with solid foundational skills who is comfortable handling social-native video and open to expanding their toolkit as the role grows.

  • Cut and trim footage into short-form social clips (Reels, TikToks, Shorts)
  • Add captions, text overlays, and basic graphics to video
  • Apply simple transitions, effects, and music using Premiere Pro or CapCut
  • Light clean-up and formatting of creator or influencer-submitted content

What Success Looks Like
  • Consistent, on-brand visual assets delivered on time across channels
  • Templates and systems that make the team’s content easier to produce at scale
  • Video outputs that look clean, native, and platform-appropriate without heavy production overhead
  • Adaptability as the content mix shifts across campaigns and seasons
  • A collaborative, low-friction working relationship with the marketing team
Tools
  • Design: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Figma
  • Video: Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut
  • Nice to have: After Effects
Bonus
  • Experience with short-form content for community or consumer apps
  • Familiarity with After Effects or motion graphics
  • Experience supporting creator or influencer content programs
  • Korean language proficiency (not required)

Skills & Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in graphic design or content design
  • Strong portfolio of digital and print design work
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Working knowledge of video editing in Premiere Pro or CapCut — comfortable with cuts, captions, text overlays, and simple effects
  • Willingness to develop your video skills further as team needs grow
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own deadlines in a fully remote environment
  • LA-based preferred for occasional in-person collaboration
Other

Role Details

  • Type: Contract (Independent Contractor)
  • Duration: 5 months, with potential to extend
  • Location: Fully remote —West Coast candidates strongly preferred
  • Reports to: Marketing Manager
