Job description

The Content Specialist is responsible for leading Perry Homes' content strategy, editorial development, and social media initiatives across all owned marketing channels. This role requires a strategic and creative thinker with strong writing and editing skills, a deep understanding of the home buying journey, and the ability to translate complex concepts into compelling, accessible content for a variety of channels and customer segments.
Working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and regional teams, the Content Specialist will ensure content aligns with business objectives, enhances brand positioning, and supports the overall customer experience. This individual will drive consistent storytelling, maintain brand voice, and ensure high-quality execution across platforms, from web and email to social and print.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy that supports business goals and strengthens Perry Homes' position as a thought leader.
  • Utilize market research, customer insights, and performance data to inform content strategy, ensuring relevance, accuracy, and alignment with audience needs and business objectives.
  • Manage all written communications, including website copy, blog posts, newsletters, marketing collateral, and editorial content.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., marketing, regional teams, CX) to identify content needs and coordinate publication schedules.
  • Own and maintain the content calendar to ensure consistent, timely delivery across platforms.
  • Write and edit high-quality, audience-focused content such as articles, case studies, blogs, and customer communications.
  • Develop and maintain editorial style guidelines and manage a centralized content library.
  • Ensure all content reflects brand voice and adheres to editorial, SEO, and compliance standards.
  • Edit and refine content from team members and partners for clarity, tone, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Oversee content production workflows from ideation to publication, ensuring alignment with defined processes.
  • Manage relationships with external content vendors, including freelance writers, designers, and agencies.
  • Support SEO and AIO initiatives by developing and optimizing content to improve search performance.
  • Partner with digital and web development teams to ensure content is optimized and appropriately implemented across channels.
  • Monitor content performance metrics and use data to refine strategies and improve engagement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of experience in content management, marketing communications, or editorial roles required.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage content strategies in complex or regulated environments.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a strong attention to detail and brand voice.
  • Familiarity with homebuilding or construction industry terminology, practices, and marketing compliance standards is preferred.
  • Proficiency with content management systems, social media scheduling, and digital marketing tools.
  • Knowledge and experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web-based publishing platforms such as Birdeye, Sprout, or similar platforms.
