The Content Director, Wealth Management Global Sales Enablement will lead the strategy, development, and delivery of high-impact content that empowers Wealth Management sales and client-facing teams to drive growth, deepen client relationships, and win in competitive markets. This role translates complex investment and planning capabilities into compelling, client-ready narratives and scalable enablement assets.
The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of strategic thinking, editorial leadership, and commercial acumen, with a deep understanding of the wealth management client lifecycle and advisor-led selling model.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Governance
  • Define and execute a global content strategy aligned to Wealth Management growth priorities, sales process, and client segments.
  • Establish content governance, taxonomy, and lifecycle management to ensure consistency, compliance, and ease of access across platforms (e.g., Seismic, CRM tools).
  • Partner with Compliance and Legal to ensure all materials meet regulatory requirements while maintaining commercial effectiveness.
Sales Enablement & Field Activation
  • Develop scalable, field-ready content that supports growth including prospecting, discovery, proposal, and client retention.
  • Equip Relationship Managers, Wealth Strategists, and client-facing teams with messaging, playbooks, pitch decks, and thought leadership tailored to priority themes (e.g., alternatives, estate planning, liquidity events, transitions).
  • Drive adoption and utilization of content through training, campaigns, and integration into workflows.
RFP, Proposal Management & Enablement Technology
  • Lead the Wealth Management RFP, proposal, and due diligence content team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compelling, and commercially effective responses that support new business development, institutional consultant relationships, and competitive sales opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain a centralized repository of approved content, client case studies, platform capabilities, and subject matter expertise to improve consistency, scalability, and response quality across all submissions.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Investments, Marketing, Trust & Advisory, Banking, Compliance teams to develop differentiated proposal content that highlights Northern Trust's value proposition and competitive strengths.
  • Drive the modernization of proposal and content management capabilities through scalable, AI-powered technologies, leveraging automation, content intelligence, and generative AI solutions to enhance productivity, accelerate response times, improve content relevance, and deliver a more personalized client experience.
  • Define governance, processes, and performance metrics for proposal management, including win rates, response quality, turnaround times, content utilization, and operational efficiency.
Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Collaborate closely with Sales Leadership, Marketing, Investments, Banking and Trust & Advisory to align content with commercial priorities and pipeline opportunities.
  • Support senior leadership communications, including key initiatives, campaigns, and strategic programs.
Performance Measurement & Optimization
  • Establish KPIs for content effectiveness (e.g., adoption, engagement, influence on pipeline and conversion).
  • Leverage data and feedback to continuously refine content strategy and improve impact.
  • Incorporate insights from digital marketing, lead generation, and CRM systems to prioritize content investments.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in wealth management, asset management, financial services marketing, or sales enablement roles.
  • Deep understanding of advisor-led sales models, client segmentation, and wealth planning/investment solutions.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling content strategies that drive measurable sales outcomes.
  • Strong executive communication and storytelling skills; ability to simplify complex concepts.
  • Experience with enablement and content platforms (e.g., Seismic) and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Experience leading proposal management, RFP, or consultant relations teams and implementing AI-enabled content management, knowledge management, or sales enablement technologies within a wealth management or financial services organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate effectively in a matrixed, global organization.
Salary Range:
$137,400 - 240,400 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
