About the role:
The Certified Trainer and Content Developer is a member of the Altium Training team responsible for delivering high quality, industry leading training on Altium Designer and related solutions. This role combines certified Instructor Led Training delivery with active participation in training content development, reviewing, and ongoing maintenance across both ILT (instructor-led training) and on-demand formats.
This position is intended for an experienced PCB design professional with strong hands on Altium Designer experience who is comfortable delivering technical training to professional engineering audiences. The role requires a high level of technical competence, strong communication skills, and the ability to deliver consistent, high quality training experiences aligned with approved course content and learning objectives.
Customer training is a critical component of Altium's long term success. This role directly supports customer adoption and best practice usage through professional, technically accurate, and engaging training delivery.
A day in the life of our Certified Trainer and Content Developer:
Training Delivery
  • Deliver certified Instructor Led Training across the full Altium training portfolio, both online and onsite.
  • Complete and maintain certification across all ILT courses prior to independent delivery.
  • Deliver training using approved course materials and defined learning objectives.
  • Demonstrate Altium Designer workflows and features using practical, real world experience and knowledge.
  • Adapt delivery style to suit different customer experience levels while maintaining consistency.
  • Represent Altium professionally in all customer interactions.

Technical Expertise
  • Maintain strong hands on proficiency with Altium Designer, including advanced functionality.
  • Apply real world PCB and system design experience to contextualise training content.
  • Stay current with product updates and changes relevant to delivered training.

Content Development and Support
  • Contribute to the development, review, and maintenance of ILT and on-demand training content.
  • Assist with creating and reviewing storyboards and scripts for on-demand training, including voiceover scripts.
  • Capture training videos and audio recordings when required, following defined standards.
  • Review training materials, recorded videos, and supporting assets for technical accuracy.
  • Update existing content to align with new releases, platform changes, and evolving best practices.

Collaboration and Communication
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams involved in training delivery and content development.
  • Communicate clearly regarding content readiness, preparation status, and assigned tasks.
  • Participate in reviews, pilots, and continuous improvement activities related to training quality.

Who We're Looking For:
  • US citizenship is required due to potential training delivery on military bases.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Five + years of hands on experience using Altium Designer in professional environments.
  • Five + years of PCB and system level design experience.
  • Strong verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to engineering audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel as required for onsite customer training, including travel outside of the United States.

Preferred
  • Previous experience delivering technical training, both onsite and online.
  • Experience supporting instructional content development or reviewing.
  • Familiarity with video capture tools such as Camtasia.
  • Experience using AI based tools for voiceover or media production.
  • Exposure to structured instructional or technical documentation workflows.

Working Conditions:
  • 5 Days per week in the Office (La Jolla or San Jose)
  • Travel required for onsite customer training as needed.

When not traveling, time will be split between online training delivery, content development
The salary range for this role is $118,000 to $141,000. Actual compensation packages within this range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate and role requirements, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location
