ABOUT GOLDEN STATE FOODS

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee day-to-day maintenance operations, lead a team of skilled technicians, and ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of equipment and facilities. This position plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, managing preventive maintenance programs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to support production goals.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Maintenance Leadership
  • Supervise daily maintenance activities to ensure timely completion of work orders, rapid response to production breakdowns, and compliance with safety and productivity standards
  • Schedule, assign, and monitor preventive maintenance for production machinery, support equipment, and spare parts inventory to minimize downtime and meet production schedules
  • Lead and mentor a maintenance team of 10-20 employees, fostering skill development and teamwork
  • Ensure all work is performed according to GSF standards and regulatory requirements (OSHA, USDA, etc.)

Project & Budget Management
  • Design and coordinate in-house projects to improve productivity, efficiency, and reliability
  • Monitor and control maintenance budget to achieve cost containment and efficiency targets
  • Track and report on maintenance KPIs such as downtime reduction, cost savings, and project completion rates

Communication & Collaboration
  • Communicate maintenance standards, expectations, and performance goals to the team
  • Partner with production and other departments to coordinate schedules, resolve issues, and improve processes
  • Serve as the point of contact for maintenance-related concerns and escalate issues as necessary

Additional Duties
  • Review and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation to plan maintenance work
  • Identify and resolve anomalies or irregularities in equipment performance
  • Perform other related and assigned duties as needed to support facility operations

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Education & Experience:
  • Up to 18 months of post-high school education in engineering, electronics, or a related technical field from an accredited vocational, technical, or junior college
  • 3-6 years of relevant maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, refrigeration, pneumatic, boiler, and other mechanical systems (journey level)
  • Understanding of maintenance practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with OSHA and USDA regulations
  • Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication and leadership skills to coach, motivate, and develop a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic computer applications

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to climb, crawl, squat, kneel, reach, and twist as needed
  • Lift, push, pull, or carry objects over 25 lbs.
  • Work in a general manufacturing environment with high standards for quality and safety
