The OPEN MINDS Health Care Content Creator is responsible for the organization's daily blog/briefing on strategy issues for the field. This includes developing story ideas, writing briefing drafts, incorporating executive team and reader perspectives in the blog, layout, scheduling, and encouraging post-publication readership.


The ideal candidate for this role has great Ghost-writing skills, is skilled in summarizing complex concepts, can work with senior executives, and has a natural curiosity about the health and human service field. The candidate will need organizational skills to manage a multi-month production schedule and strong adaptability to develop their personal writing style to fit the CEO's preferred writing expectations.


I. Responsibilities of the Health Care Content Creator include:

  • Research, writing, layout, artwork generation, and posting of daily executive briefings as the voice of the CEO
  • Manage a multi-month editorial tracker of upcoming executive briefing topics and interviews
  • Develop and execute strategies for increasing the readership of the daily briefing

Requirements

Skills, experience, and education required of the Health Care Content Creator include:

  • Strong research skills, with the ability to conduct independent research, analyze findings, and produce reports with relevant information for OPEN MINDS subscribers.
  • The ability to understand and interpret challenging health care policy, technology, and data in a fast-paced environment is required. Experience writing thought leader pieces preferred.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, including the ability to track multiple tasks and multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good writing and editing skills, with the ability to proofread documents for grammatical accuracy and correct layout.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Suite and WordPress publishing tools; Proficiency using MS SharePoint and MS Teams
  • Strong experience creating PowerPoint presentations and generating artwork.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with and working knowledge of computer applications, including, but not limited to, word processing, electronic data transfer programs, e-mail, databases, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work cooperatively in person and by telephone with clients and staff.
  • A college degree in a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the health and human service field is preferred.
  • Visual acuity is required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time, as well as bending and lifting from a sitting or standing position.
  • Ability to travel unattended on an as-needed basis.
