Reporting Relationship:  Reports to the Director, Social and Digital Strategy

Status:                               Full-time (Exempt)

Position Summary

The Carolina Panthers Manager, Social Media Platforms will serve a leading role in developing and executing the team’s strategy across all social media platforms. The Manager will lead publishing processes, community management, and analytics-tracking related to social, developing reporting systems to improve decision-making on how to best utilize Panthers handles. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of social media, with a developed understanding for content that will perform well on various social platforms based on both art and science. The candidate will serve a key role in creating and curating content from multiple sources to form industry-leading social feeds across all platforms, and will serve as a primary publisher and community manager for Panthers social platforms.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and operations of social publishing processes, including:
    • Lead the development and upkeep of social publishing calendars, ensuring a strategic and robust content mix that engages fans 365 days a year.
    • Lead the development, tracking, and reporting of key social metrics that allow the team to benchmark against our organizational goals.
    • Lead community management including Instagram messages, Twitter mentions and comments on all platforms.
    • Lead processed to share content with player accounts, including tagging, collaborations, and sharing content directly with players for publishing on their channels
  • Publish day-to-day content across all @Panthers affiliated social accounts (X, Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, etc.)
  • Manage team members, including several direct reports
  • Lead Panthers strategy for which accounts to follow, amplify, like, and otherwise engage, in accordance with a defined set of principles
  • Monitor trending topics across platforms and react in real-time
  • Lead the strategy and development of creative activations with outside creators for use on our channels (illustrators, animators, sculptors, etc.)
  • Lead processes surrounding live coverage of gameday on socials, including posting highlights, photos, graphics, etc.
  • Collaborate daily with Social Video team to develop video set-ups designed to created compelling, timely, and engaging video content specifically for socials.
  • Help to define Panthers platform strategies for major social platforms, as well as emerging platforms.
  • Study best practices across social platforms, and seek to elevate our team until we are viewed among best practices in all categories.
  • Identify and coordinate opportunities to collaborate on content with strategic accounts. Advance opportunities to post collaboratively to extend our brand reach to new audience.
    • Identify key influencer and creator relationships to help us expand our reach to valuable and relevant audiences, and work to develop relationships and create opportunities for shared content or account collaboration.
  • Alongside Director, Social and Digital Strategy, serve a key leadership role in defining the Panthers social media voice, considering both where we have been and where we would like to go.
    • Uphold the Panthers Social voice across day-to-day posting, commenting, and other operations.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the digital team to execute engaging content including graphic designers, photographers, videographers and team reporters
  • Develop a system to receive and publish phone video for Instagram Stories and other platforms. Work with team to cover events in real-time via social media platforms including player initiatives, sponsorship events, community events
  • Support secondary Panthers team social accounts through strategy, best practices, and occasional content capture.
  • Work with departments across all business units to deliver social and digital content (community, ticketing, stadium, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience in social media
  • 1 - 2 years+ direct managerial experience
  • Strong working knowledge of social media networks, including Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, and more
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Working knowledge of photo and video editing tools
  • Excellent oral, written, communication, and proofreading skills
