What is a content creator?

A Content Creator is a professional who produces engaging and relevant material for digital platforms, such as blogs, social media, websites, or video channels. Their work can include writing articles, creating videos, designing graphics, or producing podcasts to attract and engage audiences. Content Creators often tailor their material to suit the target audience and platform, using creativity and strategy to achieve marketing or communication goals. They may work independently or as part of a larger marketing or media team.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a content creator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Content Creator, you need strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities, often supported by experience in digital media or a related field. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), social media platforms, SEO tools, and basic graphic or video editing software is typically required. Creativity, adaptability, and effective communication are standout soft skills for connecting with audiences and responding to changing trends. These skills are essential for producing engaging, high-quality content that drives audience growth and meets organizational goals.

What are some common challenges content creators face when managing multiple projects or platforms?

Content Creators often juggle several projects and platforms at once, which can make time management and consistency challenging. Balancing the unique requirements of each channel—such as adapting tone, format, and posting frequency—requires strong organizational skills. Additionally, staying up-to-date with trends and algorithms while meeting deadlines can be demanding. Collaborating effectively with designers, marketers, and other team members is key to ensuring cohesive and high-quality output across all platforms.

Job description

About Dearfoams:

Dearfoams has been a trusted leader in comfort footwear since 1947. As the #1 slipper brand in the U.S., we’re now expanding into next-gen social commerce with TikTok Shop and Instagram as key growth engines. We’re looking for a creative, data-driven, and highly entrepreneurial content creator to drive customer acquisition and revenue through short-form video and social-first storytelling.

What You’ll Do:

Customer Acquisition Through Content

  • Own and execute a TikTok and Instagram content strategy focused on acquiring new customers through high-converting, entertaining, and trend-driven videos.
  • Develop daily content that combines storytelling with clear product benefits and strong calls-to-action (CTAs) designed to drive clicks, follows, and purchases.
  • Use TikTok Shop tools (affiliate partnerships, product pins, in-video shopping) to turn viewers into buyers.
  • Identify acquisition opportunities through hashtags, sound trends, and TikTok SEO to get in front of new audiences.

Paid + Organic Growth Strategy

  • Work closely with the marketing team to test organic content in paid formats (Spark Ads) to scale high-performing creative, while also leveraging this channel to elevate our brand and encourage new and younger consumers to disover the brand.
  • Collaborate with paid media and influencer teams to align on customer funnel strategy and creative testing.

Performance-Driven Optimization

  • Use platform analytics, conversion data, and A/B tests to optimize content for CAC (customer acquisition cost), CTR, and ROAS.
  • Continuously iterate on hooks, formats, visuals, and messaging based on real-time performance.

Affiliate & Influencer Collabs

  • Recruit and manage TikTok affiliate creators to expand reach and acquire new customers through trusted voices.
  • Develop campaign briefs, track creator performance, and repackage UGC for ongoing acquisition efforts.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Analyze performance data to optimize content and make weekly recommendations for improvement based on findings.

Who You Are:

  • A creator and strategist in one — you love making short-form video but think like a growth marketer.
  • Deep understanding of TikTok and Instagram as acquisition tools, not just brand awareness.
  • Fully tapped into Gen Z culture – someone who can craft content that feels native, not forced and knows how to speak fluent Gen Z.
  • Comfortable interpreting funnel data and shaping creative based on performance insights.
  • Familiar with TikTok Shop mechanics, attribution, and how to move customers from scroll to sale.
  • Proactive, agile, and eager to own an emerging sales channel from the ground up.

Requirements:

  • 2–4 years in social media marketing, content creation, DTC eCommerce, or growth marketing.
  • Proven track record of using content to acquire and convert new customers (portfolio or case studies a plus).
  • Hands-on experience with TikTok Shop, Reels shopping, or affiliate-driven content campaigns.
  • Strong video editing skills (CapCut, Adobe Suite, or equivalent).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, test-and-learn environment.

Why Join Us?

  • Be the face and force behind Dearfoams' social commerce growth strategy.
  • Combine creative freedom with performance accountability in a high-impact role.
  • Help shape how the next generation discovers and shops for comfort.
