What is a content creator?

A Content Creator is a professional who produces engaging and relevant material for digital platforms, such as blogs, social media, websites, or video channels. Their work can include writing articles, creating videos, designing graphics, or producing podcasts to attract and engage audiences. Content Creators often tailor their material to suit the target audience and platform, using creativity and strategy to achieve marketing or communication goals. They may work independently or as part of a larger marketing or media team.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a content creator, and why are they important?

Job description

Beauty Content Creator & Live Shopping HostTikTok Live + Whatnot | Independent Contractor

Location: Ronkonkoma, NY – On-Site Studio
Engagement: Independent Contractor
Compensation: $20.00–$25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
Schedule: Flexible – Accept opportunities based on your availability

YOUR PERSONALITY. YOUR SCHEDULE. YOUR OPPORTUNITY.

Love beauty? Comfortable on camera? Know how to keep people watching, talking, clicking, and buying?

We want to meet you.

The PCA Group of Companies is looking for energetic, creative, and engaging Beauty Content Creators & Live Shopping Hosts to join our growing social-commerce presence on TikTok Live, Whatnot, and other livestream shopping platforms.

And one of the best parts?

FLEXIBILITY IS THE POINT.

We understand that creators have busy lives.

You may already be creating content. You may be building your social following. You may be in school. You may work another job. You may be a makeup artist, beauty advisor, esthetician, model, actor, salesperson, influencer, or simply someone who is really good on camera and obsessed with beauty.

That is why we have structured this opportunity as an Independent Contractor engagement.

Work as little or as much as your availability allows, based on available livestream opportunities.

Accept the livestream opportunities that work with your schedule. Have more availability? Take on more sessions. Have a busy week? Keep your commitments lighter.

We are looking for personalities—not a traditional 9-to-5 schedule.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Beauty Content Creator & Live Shopping Host, you will bring products to life in real time.

You may:

  • Host engaging and high-energy TikTok Live and Whatnot livestream shopping events
  • Demonstrate and showcase fragrance, cosmetics, skincare, haircare, wellness, and personal-care products
  • Talk naturally about products, features, trends, benefits, and your personal favorites
  • Interact directly with viewers through comments, questions, reactions, polls, giveaways, and live conversations
  • Create excitement around new products, trending items, special offers, bundles, and limited-time opportunities
  • Help turn viewers into customers through authentic product storytelling and demonstrations
  • Keep livestreams entertaining, conversational, fast-moving, and engaging
  • Learn about different beauty brands and confidently communicate their stories
  • Work with our team to continuously improve livestream content, audience engagement, and sales performance
  • Bring your own personality, creativity, energy, humor, style, and point of view to every live session

We don't want someone who sounds like they are reading a sales script.

We want someone people actually want to watch.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You could be a great fit if you are:

  • Comfortable—and preferably very comfortable—on camera
  • Energetic, expressive, outgoing, and conversational
  • Passionate about beauty, fragrance, skincare, cosmetics, haircare, wellness, fashion, lifestyle, or social media
  • Familiar with TikTok, Whatnot, Instagram, YouTube, livestreaming, or social-commerce platforms
  • Able to think on your feet and keep a conversation moving
  • Naturally persuasive without sounding overly scripted
  • Comfortable demonstrating products and answering questions live
  • Able to connect with different audiences and personalities
  • Dependable when you accept a scheduled livestream engagement
  • Excited about trends, viral products, creator culture, and the constantly changing world of social media
EXPERIENCE IS GREAT. PERSONALITY MATTERS MORE.

Previous experience in live selling, livestreaming, content creation, social media, beauty retail, influencing, UGC, brand ambassadorship, acting, broadcasting, modeling, cosmetics, fragrance, or sales is a plus.

But professional livestream experience is not required.

If you have the personality, confidence, communication skills, and ability to connect with an audience, we want to hear from you.

ALREADY A CREATOR? EVEN BETTER.

We especially encourage applications from:

  • TikTok creators
  • Whatnot sellers or hosts
  • Beauty influencers
  • UGC creators
  • Micro-influencers
  • Social media personalities
  • Makeup artists
  • Estheticians
  • Beauty advisors
  • Fragrance enthusiasts
  • Brand ambassadors
  • Models and actors
  • Podcast or video hosts
  • Streamers
  • Content creators
  • Retail beauty professionals
  • On-camera sales personalities

You do not need a huge following.

A smaller creator with great camera presence, authenticity, energy, and the ability to connect with an audience may be exactly what we're looking for.

BUILT AROUND FLEXIBILITY

This is not being designed as a traditional full-time position.

It is an Independent Contractor opportunity designed to provide flexibility for people who want to participate in live social commerce without committing to a traditional fixed weekly schedule.

Livestream opportunities may be available at different times depending on programming, product launches, campaigns, and business needs.

You determine the opportunities you are available to accept.

This could be a great fit if you are looking for:

  • Supplemental income
  • Flexible creator work
  • Part-time opportunities
  • Additional on-camera experience
  • Experience in social commerce
  • Beauty industry exposure
  • A way to turn your social-media skills into paid work
  • Opportunities to work around school, another position, freelance projects, auditions, clients, or your own content schedule

Whether you have limited weekly availability or want to take on significantly more livestream opportunities, we want this engagement to work with your life—not the other way around.

Available hours and engagements will vary based on livestream programming and business needs, and there is no guarantee of a minimum number of hours.

COMPENSATION

$20.00–$25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Relevant experience may include livestream hosting, social-media content creation, live selling, beauty industry experience, on-camera work, audience development, sales, broadcasting, acting, influencing, UGC creation, or similar experience.

WHERE YOU’LL CREATE

Livestreams are hosted from our Ronkonkoma, New York studio, or our NYC studio. where you'll have access to products and the environment needed to create engaging live-shopping experiences.

This is an on-site opportunity. Candidates must be able to travel to the Ronkonkoma studio or NYC studio for accepted livestream engagements.

DON'T HAVE A TRADITIONAL RESUME? THAT'S OKAY.

For this role, we care about what you can do on camera.

Apply with a resume or a brief description of your relevant experience.

We also strongly encourage you to share links to any available:

  • TikTok profile
  • Instagram profile
  • Whatnot profile
  • YouTube channel
  • Livestream recordings
  • UGC content
  • Beauty content
  • Product reviews
  • GRWM videos
  • Product demonstrations
  • Hosting reels
  • Social-media content
  • Other examples that show us your personality

Selected candidates may be invited to participate in a brief on-camera audition or live product demonstration.

You don't need a professional reel.

We just want to see you be you.

READY TO GO LIVE?

If you love beauty, understand social media, can command a camera, and know how to connect with people, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

Bring your energy.

Bring your personality.

Bring your creativity.

We'll bring the beauty.

Let's go live.
