Job description

Our Mission
The Dirt World-food, water, shelter, power, and transportation-is the foundation of humanity. Without it, we cannot function or thrive. Our mission is to make the Dirt World a better place by building its people, leaders, and companies through tools, storytelling, and community. Aaron Witt's content is a key part of that mission-telling the stories of the Dirt World to inspire and educate.
The Opportunity
BuildWitt is looking for a Digital Content Specialist to create compelling content that tells the stories of the Dirt World. This is a Nashville-based hybrid, creative role for someone who enjoys both being behind the camera and behind the edit. You'll primarily transform footage into engaging videos, photos, and social media content viewed by millions. Secondarily, you'll capture content at jobsites, events, and our office, with occasional travel to construction projects across North America and beyond. If you love filmmaking, visual storytelling, and creating content that makes people stop scrolling, this role was built for you.
Travel: Approximately 15-30%
What You'll Do
Edit & Produce Content
  • Own projects from raw footage to final delivery.
  • Edit engaging videos for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, and X.
  • Create reels, highlight videos, testimonials, event recaps, promotional videos, and social-first content.
  • Design motion graphics, titles, lower thirds, callouts, and animated elements that enhance storytelling.
  • Color correct, mix audio, and export platform-specific deliverables.
  • Organize project files and maintain an efficient content library.
Social Media & Creative
  • Write captions, titles, and social copy that improve engagement.
  • Help develop thumbnails and other promotional assets.
  • Contribute ideas during creative brainstorming sessions.
  • Stay on top of platform trends, editing techniques, and emerging social formats.
  • Use analytics and performance data to improve future content.
Capture Content
  • Travel to jobsites, events, manufacturing facilities, and customer locations to capture original content.
  • Film interviews, daily moments, heavy equipment, construction processes, behind-the-scenes moments, and branded content.
  • Capture both professional camera footage and fast-paced iPhone content depending on the project.
  • Direct talent on camera when needed and help create authentic moments.
  • Ensure high-quality audio, lighting, framing, and overall production value.
About You
We're looking for someone who is equal parts filmmaker, editor, and storyteller.
You have many of the following:
  • Strong experience shooting video with both professional cameras and smartphones.
  • Excellent video editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Experience creating motion graphics in Adobe After Effects.
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of pacing, storytelling, hooks, and audience retention.
  • Experience creating high-performing short-form content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Strong eye for composition, lighting, color, and audio.
  • Comfortable working independently while managing multiple projects.
  • Highly organized with excellent file management and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable receiving and implementing creative feedback.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and occasionally work evenings or weekends for productions.
  • A positive attitude, curiosity, and a desire to continually improve.
  • Experience operating cinema cameras, gimbals, wireless audio, and lighting equipment.
  • Bonus: You have a genuine interest in construction, infrastructure, or the skilled trades-Aaron Witt's world.
What Success Looks Like
The ideal person doesn't just create videos-they create content people actually watch.
Success in this role means:
  • Capturing unique stories from the field.
  • Producing engaging content efficiently.
  • Continuously improving creative quality.
  • Helping BuildWitt reach and inspire the next generation of the Dirt World.
  • Contributing fresh ideas that elevate our content across every platform.
About Us (Why We're Not For Everyone)
  • We're a start-up. We don't have everything figured out.
  • We push ourselves as a team and as individuals, requiring a strong stomach for discomfort and growth.
  • We move fast.
  • We believe in transparency and practice hard conversations regularly.
  • Hybrid doesn't mean we hang out and mess about.
  • It's not about us-it's about the Dirt World.

We believe in the power of diversity and are proud to offer equal employment opportunities regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, disability, or veteran status.
