Position Summary

The Depot Manager is responsible for assigning jobs to ensure efficient depot operations. The role ensures that company policies are being followed and that work is conducted in a safe manner. Additionally, the position assists in supervising depot personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help train and coach depot employees.
  • Communicate in a timely and effective manner with customers to ensure a high level of service.
  • Review all orders and process and/or distribute according to depot procedure.
  • Enter container information into Depot Systems and prepare estimates/work orders for each container.
  • Initiate and maintain customer specifications.
  • Handle Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for products stored.
  • Incorporate measures to prevent waste and lost time.
  • Effectively address concerns from employees and customers.
  • Ensure compliance with safety rules, including but not limited to those defined by OSHA and DOT.
  • Enforce and practice all safety rules of the Company and all government agencies, including but not limited to DOT and OSHA; monitor risk.
  • Understand and follow established policies and procedures in emergency situations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications
  • Familiarity with DOT and OSHA regulations
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior Depot experience
  • Experience using Depot Systems Software
  • Container industry experience
  • Prior management/supervisory experience
  • Understanding equipment utilization and allocation

  • Solid communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to change
  • Strong customer service orientation, ensuring needs and deadlines are met in a timely fashion

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • May be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel; reach with hand and arms, and stoop, kneel or crouch as needed.
  • May be required to lift 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision requirements include the ability to see at close range, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasional travel to corporate office and other locations
  • Ability to operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Work Environment:

  • The position operates in a standard office environment, as well as a standard outside depot yard/shop.
  • This position routinely uses office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and file cabinets.
  • The position requires use of a Loaded/Empty Container lift.
  • The position requires maintenance/prep work on ISO Containers.

Salary Range:

Disclaimer: The starting salary rate for this position is $60,000 yearly. This range is based on market data and internal equity. The final offer will be determined by various factors, including the candidates experience, education, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
