Role: Container Data Center Pre-Sales Architect


Location: Plano, TX & Fremont, CA (Open for both location)


Type: Fulltime/Permanent


Salary: $165K-180K + Benefits + 55% bonus


Position Summary


The Container Data Center Pre-Sales Architect serves as the technical lead during the sales cycle for modular and containerized data center solutions. This role works closely with customers, sales teams, engineering, and product management to develop customized solutions that meet technical, operational, and business requirements.


The architect translates customer requirements into scalable, energy-efficient, and cost-effective containerized data center designs while providing technical leadership throughout the proposal and bidding process.


Key Responsibilities


  • Customer Engagement & Consulting
  • Engage with customers to understand business, IT, and facility requirements.
  • Conduct technical discovery workshops and site assessments.
  • Advise customers on modular data center strategies, deployment models, and technology roadmaps.
  • Present technical solutions to customer stakeholders, including executives, IT teams, facilities teams, and consultants.


Solution Architecture


  • Design end-to-end containerized data center solutions, including:
  • IT infrastructure
  • Power systems
  • Cooling systems
  • Fire suppression systems
  • Monitoring and management systems
  • Security systems
  • Network connectivity
  • Develop reference architectures and conceptual designs.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.


Technical Sales Support


  • Support account managers and sales teams during the sales process.
  • Prepare technical proposals, RFIs, RFPs, and tender responses.
  • Create BOMs (Bill of Materials), solution diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct solution presentations and technical demonstrations.


Cross-Functional Collaboration


  • Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and project delivery teams.
  • Provide technical feedback to product management regarding market requirements.
  • Ensure solution feasibility and alignment with delivery capabilities.


Industry & Market Expertise

Required Qualifications


Education


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.


Experience


  • 5–10+ years in data center infrastructure, solution architecture, or technical sales.
  • Experience with modular/containerized data center solutions.
  • Experience supporting enterprise, cloud, telecom, or hyperscale customers.
