PeopleReady of Lake Park, FL is now hiring Port Forklift Operators in Riviera Beach, FL! A Port Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other cargo handling equipment to load, unload, move, and stack materials within a port or marine terminal. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient cargo flow, maintaining safety standards, and supporting port logistics operations.

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $18 - $18 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Port Forklift Operator:

  • Operate forklifts (including high capacity or container forklifts) to move cargo, pallets, and containers throughout the port
  • Load and unload trucks, vessels, railcars, and storage areas
  • Inspect forklifts and equipment daily to ensure safe working condition
  • Follow all port safety regulations, OSHA standards, and terminal operating procedures
  • Assist with securing cargo, including strapping, blocking, and bracing when required
  • Maintain accurate records of cargo movement and equipment usage
  • Communicate with supervisors, crane operators, and logistics teams using radios or hand signals
  • Identify damaged cargo and report issues promptly
  • Support general port operations, including housekeeping and staging cargo

Shift Timings: 1st Shift (Day) & Weekends

Job requirements:

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
  • Experience operating forklifts in an industrial, warehouse, or port environment
  • Valid forklift certification (port-specific certifications may be required)
  • Ability to operate various forklift types (standard, reach, clamp, container handler)
  • Understanding of port logistics, cargo handling, and safety procedures
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours weekends
  • Experience in marine terminals or intermodal operations
  • TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials handling (HAZMAT)
  • Familiarity with terminal operating systems (TOS)
  • Background Check Required
