How much do container loader jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 1, 2026, the average hourly pay for container loader in Washington is $19.76, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $15.74 and $20.39 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are some common challenges faced by a Container Loader, and how can they be addressed?

Container Loaders often encounter challenges such as managing heavy or awkwardly shaped cargo, working efficiently under time constraints, and ensuring items are securely packed to prevent damage during transit. To address these, it's important to follow proper lifting techniques, use appropriate equipment, and adhere to safety protocols. Clear communication with team members and supervisors is also key to coordinating loading activities and resolving issues quickly. Many companies provide on-the-job training to help workers develop these skills and promote a safe, productive environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Container Loader, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Container Loader, you need physical stamina, attention to detail, and basic understanding of warehouse operations, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with pallet jacks, forklifts, and inventory management systems is typically required, with OSHA forklift certification being a common asset. Strong teamwork, time management, and communication skills help individuals excel in fast-paced environments. These abilities are crucial for ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate loading processes that support overall supply chain effectiveness.

What job makes $1,000,000 a year?

Most jobs that earn $1,000,000 annually are high-level executive roles such as CEOs, successful entrepreneurs, or top-tier investment bankers. These positions often require extensive experience, advanced skills, and significant responsibility, and income can come from salary, bonuses, and equity. In the context of a container loader, such earnings are unlikely, as this role typically offers lower compensation levels.

Is it hard to get a job on a container ship?

Getting a job as a container loader can be competitive and often requires physical strength, attention to safety procedures, and sometimes certifications such as OSHA training. Entry-level positions are available, but experience with cargo handling equipment and a willingness to work long hours or irregular schedules can improve chances of employment.

What are container loaders?

Container loaders are workers responsible for efficiently loading and unloading goods into shipping containers, trucks, or freight vehicles. Their main tasks include arranging cargo to maximize space, securing items to prevent damage during transit, and following safety protocols. They often use equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks and must keep accurate records of loaded items. Container loaders play a vital role in the supply chain by ensuring goods are transported safely and efficiently.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

Container loaders typically do not earn $4,000 a week without specialized experience or overtime; most entry-level positions pay less. High-paying jobs that can reach this level without a degree include skilled trades like commercial truck driving, certain sales roles, or specialized construction work, often requiring certifications or licenses. These roles may involve physically demanding work, irregular hours, or specific skills but can offer high weekly earnings based on experience and workload.

Job description

Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineer to lead the ground-up design and implementation of a custom Kubernetes-compatible container orchestration platform. This is a rare opportunity to build a next-generation system from first principles, rethinking Kubernetes' core concepts to fit the unique needs of our architecture, scale, and performance requirements.

In this role, you'll be a foundational member of a specialized team responsible for designing and developing key components of a distributed systems stack including scheduling, networking, service discovery, container runtime integration, and security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and implement a lightweight, performant Kubernetes-compatible control plane and supporting components.

  • Design and build core systems including the scheduler, controller manager, API server, and etcd-like state store.

  • Develop a custom container runtime interface or integrate with existing runtimes (e.g., containerd, CRI-O).

  • Implement cluster networking, load balancing, and service discovery mechanisms.

  • Ensure robust authentication, RBAC, auditing, and security policy enforcement.

  • Integrate observability tooling for metrics, logging, and tracing.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the platform supports internal use cases at scale.

  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and documentation.

  • Stay on top of CNCF developments and industry trends to guide future design decisions.
