Job description

Pure Ground Ingredients in Minden, Nevada

PGI is a fast growing organic herb/spice/botanical importing and production company that utilizes extensive food safety, handling, and management practices to ensure a quality product.

  • Job Duties
    • Coordinating with the Production/Warehouse Supervisor on material needed for productions and outbound freight
    • Pulls all material allocated for production from its location in the warehouse
    • Verifies and records pre-production weight of all material
    • Replenishes production material as needed
    • Uses Inventory Management System to complete all inventory moves
    • Assign locations to all new inventory in the warehouse
    • Report any discrepancies to the Warehouse Supervisor
    • Assist with cycle counting and inventory control
    • Consolidate materials to make room for incoming freight and assists with unloading trucks and containers
    • Maintains an organized inventory of product
    • Use sit down forklift and stand-up/reach lift
  • Safety/Sanitation/Equipment Maintenance
    • Completes a daily forklift inspection
    • Preforms minor forklift preventative maintenance
    • Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized working environment to ensure efficiency, employee safety, and product integrity
    • Practice and adhere to the established standard operating procedures and policies
    • Practice good manufacturing practices as they relate to food manufacturing
    • Practice and adhere to all safety and quality policies and procedures
    • Identify and report food safety and quality issues (non conformances/out of specification product)
    • Complete forklift training and adhere to safety policies daily
    • Operates forklift in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • May assist shipping/receiving (loading/unloading trucks) as needed

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Read, write, speak, and comprehend English
  • Previous experience in a warehouse
  • Previous forklift experience and ability to complete a forklift training program
  • Familiarity with material handling
  • Understand product coding/location coding and how it relates to inventory control
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and inventory control
  • Ability to formulate, give, take, and follow directions, demonstrate time management skills as well as organizational development and improvement skills
  • Comprehend basic math
  • Follow verbal and written instructions
  • Computer literate
  • Must have good work ethic, attention to detail, be highly motivated, and be a hands-on problem solver
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to work in an environment that contains fumes, dust, odors, low level noise and temperature/ventilation variations while wearing appropriate safety and/or PPE
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods, pull, push, lift, climb, bend, squat and use manual dexterity
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Pass pre-employment screening (reference check)
