Job description

Adventist Health Portland has been caring for East Portland since 1893, growing alongside the community we serve. The Adventist Health Northwest Heart Center, located on our medical center campus, provides advanced cardiovascular care, bringing together expert providers, innovative treatments and compassionate support for patients across the region.

Job Summary:

Prepares operating rooms i.e., restocking linens in room and placing trash in biohazard bags in appropriate containers, etc. Provides basic patient services, under direct supervision and according to established standards.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
  • Previous experience in environmental services: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Hazardous Materials Training (HAZMAT) certification: Preferred
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares operating rooms for first case of the day by ensuring bed is made, restocking linens in room, placing trash, linen, and biohazard bags in appropriate containers, etc.
  • Assists in transportation of equipment/supplies to and from rooms, ensuring proper handling and storage. Orders/restocks supplies as assigned.
  • Ensures instruments, equipment and items belonging to the hospital are maintained.
  • Completes unit-specific required competency assessment and continuing education activities.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
