Shipco Transport Inc., a leading international cargo transportation company, has an immediate opening at our CHI branch located in Franklin Park, IL for an experienced LCL Export Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain relationships with customers, steamship lines, truckers and warehouse.
  • Negotiating rates with vendors (steamship lines, truckers).
  • Ensure Department emails are addressed timely by the team.
  • Assist and coach Team members in problem solvingManaging Department time and attendance.
  • Ensuring Department KPI's are met.
  • Decision maker for loading/rolling decisions where financial matters and customer requirements are considered.
  • Maintain relationships with overseas agents and ensuring agent agreements are followed.
  • Ocean carrier selection.
  • Ensure shipments are processed in compliance with the laws and regulations governing for US Export Industry.
  • Implement procedures to improve productivity, quality, efficiency and profitability.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Ability to lead and manage small to mid-size team.
  • Familiar with ocean container load planning.
  • Functional knowledge of IMDG and CFR-49 regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, challenging environment.
  • Knowledge of geography.
  • Min 5 years ocean transportation experience.
