Job description

The Key Account Analyst drives data-driven insights and execution across key retail partners, including PetSmart, Petco, Pet Supplies Plus (PSP), and Chewy. This role partners closely with Account Managers and Sales Leadership to analyze performance, identify opportunities, and influence strategies that drive revenue growth.
This position is expected to operate as a thought partner to Sales-translating complex data into actionable insights, proactively identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring key initiatives are executed accurately and on time.
Job Responsibilities:
Account Analysis & Insight
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting to track sales performance, velocity, SKU productivity, and promotional impact
  • Lead category management efforts by analyzing trends, variances, and product performance to identify risks and opportunities across accounts
  • Provide actionable recommendations to improve sales performance and support strategic decision-making
  • Track performance against Joint Business Plans (JBP) and key initiatives, providing regular updates to stakeholders
  • Monitor in-stock levels and order trends; proactively identify and escalate potential issues
  • Partner with IT on ai adoption and use ai to efficiently uncover opportunities

Project Management
  • Manage key account timelines, including line reviews, seasonal presentations, and JBP planning
  • Track execution of sales strategies, promotional programs, and secondary placement opportunities
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Product Development to ensure timely execution of initiatives

Account administration
  • Maintain accurate product, pricing, and item setup across internal and retailer systems
  • Support SKU setup, product changes, and pricing updates
  • Partner with retailer contacts to ensure data accuracy and timely system updates

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3-7 years' experience in sales/data analysis including use of syndicated data such as Circana
  • Experience with consumer products or retail preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with CRM or sales systems (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
